I read Nancy's book and couldn't believe the struggles she overcame throughout her whole life - all in addition to her Bell's Palsy affliction back when she was young! I will miss seeing her.
I am very saddened by Nancys passing. I have looked to her videos and books for help in my sewing. She was truly a person to look for in her courage and knowledge.
I never ever owned a sewing machine,yet I watch Sewing With Nancy weekly.

Nancy I love your show and videos and I think your beautiful my niece has cerebral palsy she was born premature and was only 26 weeks old when she was born. This may she will graduate from Texas A&M and we are so proud of her! She is an amazing young woman. I have always loved your show in secret because I am a retired Army Ranger! Wow Nancy what an inspiring story!!! I myself have Rheumatoid arthritis also known as RA I try my best to deal with it an not let it get the best of me!!! However one of the hardest parts is my uncontrolled shaking due to the pain killers I'm on some days are worse than others but I give it my best to continue with my love of sewing and designing doll clothes!!! Nancy I just wanted 2 say Thanks 4 sharing ur story with us and all ur incredible talents!!! You r VERY Very very Inspiring!!!

My Tribute to You! -Thank you, Nancy, for being my Sewing Teacher and Inspiration for all these years. I have been sewing since I was a teenager - learning much on my own and have watched you on PBS since the beginning. You have taught me how to be a better sewer, and have blessed my life with your knowledge As a young mother of 8 who sewed clothing for my children and decor for my home I learned so much from your Sewing with Nancy shows on PBS. I watched you as you and Mari Malaria did those T-shirts and learned how to use a serger to make Sweatshirts for my children. I taped most of your shows for my own reference Library and even started my own home based Alteration business. In 2013 I was able to come to your Nancy Notions Weekend with my Sewing Guild - traveling by bus in a big May snowstorm from St Paul MN to Beaver Dam - I enjoyed the weekend even getting to say hello to you in person. You were even gracious enough to have a picture taken with me. I remember how excited I was to finally meet you in person. Rest in Peace Dear Nancy and my prayers are with your family as they grieve their loss of you.

Ms. Nancy, I don't know very much about sewing. But as far as I can remember I always loved watching you on tv. Now I can watch you anytime I want. Now I have a roku and I can watch you in UA-cam on my tv.
I have been following you for years! I have gained a lot of knowledge and you always encourage all of us. Your book, "Ten, Fifteen, Twenty Minutes to Sew," is my favorite book of yours. It taught me how to sew in small bites of time, being married with family and career, it showed me how to still do my favorite hobby! Thank you for your years of serving the public. I also love your notions. They are always professional!

As a retired teacher, I always took people (children) as they were, no questions asked!..even when I first saw you on UA-cam. I just ordered the book. I am very interested in learning more because I remember watching Nancy when I was a little girl. I am now a professional corsetiere working on corset making instructional materials (including videos). I have been held back by my anxiety disorder and my self confidence (I have PTSD), and very much wish to overcome my issues so I can make a successful career of teaching the art of corsetry.
I admire your self confidence for crossing all those steps to reach where exactly you are today. I'm watching all your videos and always find something special I can do to better sew. I wish I had started my own business much younger than at the time I did and sure adapt all those tips you are showing to us. I have found you an inspiration in many ways, Nancy. And in my sewing and especially my quilting, you have really helped me so much. I find you easy to follow and understand unlike a lot of videos on youtube. Sadly people can be very nasty to anyone with a disability and have to say what and where are they now compared to you who is a success with many followers and a very loved lady by everyone who knows and follows you. You have made many of us out here happy and better at what we love to do. That is a true gift you have Nancy. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Nancy I hope this message finds you. I was about 11 in 1991. Your show would come on it was either KPBS or PBS...and I would get so excited! I asked my dad for a sewing machine for Christmas. I did get that sewing machine but I never had a mother so I would watch your shows at 12 years old trying to learn how to sew and make things. It was the closest thing I had to a mom at the time. 25 years later and here I am with a successfully growing sewing and design business! I think about you all the time, and your show that sparked my career.

I had so many books and VHS, now DVD's of her. I, as you, always admired her for the perfection on her job, very inspirational and very professional person.

I think, unless it is out of compassion, your asymetrical face is no one's business. On the other hand, it is so encouraging to see that people who have had your kind of problems or others cans still be very elegant, suceed in life and do a agreat job at what they are doing. I thought my admiration for you could not have been any more than it was until I read your book. Honestly, I always thought you were such a pretty lady and so kind and patient. Only knowing you through TV, that was my impression. Now I can add a strong and savvy woman whose values and ideals mirror my own. Thanks so much for sharing so much with those of us "out here". Nancy, I too have facial paralysis secondary to Bell's palsy, so I've always felt a kinship to you. You are a terrific seamstress and an inspiration!
Your show was one of the first sewing shows I remember watching when I was bedridden will illness. When I some what recovered, I got back into sewing, inspired mostly from watching your shows. Love the tips you give, makes sewing so much easier.
What an amazingly inspirational woman Nancy was. If I'm honest I never really noticed her facial difference. I was always to engrossed in her wonderful shows and sewing to really pay attention to anything other than the fabrics she was working her magic on.
Thank you, Nancy, for what you've shared in this brief video. I plan to get a copy of your book to read. I, too, grew up on a farm, but in central Ilinois, and I grew up under a mother who sewed all the slips and dresses and blouses for 5 daughters! She kept her Domestic sewing machine at one end of the cherry dining room table in our small farm house, and that's where she snatched moments to sew, between gardening, canning, tending the chickens, and cooking three meals a day with no dishwasher! Now, I have really acute RA and Fibromyalgia, and every day is difficult to walk, to work in the kitchen, and I can no longer do housework or garden. However, I can still sew, hand-embroider, and rubber stamp. I watch your program whenever I can, and you help by keeping me inspired and teaching me techniques. Thank you, Nancy. God bless you!

Wow, Nancy, I think I would have to agree with BlueEyes Brittany! I am just beginning to learn to quilt. I live a good ways out of town, so learning comes from watching your UA-cam vids, which I have just discovered! When I watch you speak and see how you teach us all so many different techniques and such, your confidence and beauty radiates from your face. Life can be such a challenge at times, but seeing how you have pushed through the road blocks is very encouraging, amazing and truly inspiring! TY so much, Nancy!
Nancy, Nancy, Nancy, NEVER Google yourself. Except I'm glad you did. I have Bell's Palsy on and off, because of MS. I don't even want to leave the house. You give me courage and have for years. Mine goes away, although it's tending to last longer. Which is normal, as I age. I have always watched you and just thought you were you. I've adopted two kids and am adopted myself, so your book is on my list.
