Sounds like a good outing! The "major development" is disappointing, but the overall score is objectively pretty positive for a newly promoted referee. FWIW, when I assess games where the referee's performance is strong I often pick up a bit more on "potential dangers", i.e., little events that didn't cause a problem that game, but that could have escalated. Don't know whether that was the case here (though by noting that the players avoided caution-able behavior it seems to me that he felt it was the players that kept themselves under control, rather than anything you did or didn't do). Regardless, he liked your performance and he's given you a pretty specific area to work on - identifying and dealing with those minor confrontations. It's always good to have a target for improvement when you go out next, and that's one that pays real dividends (as long as one doesn't go overboard, of course). Well done!

Jon, keep your head high buddy so many + to take away from, a nice mixture of quick yellows and slightly slower yellows done, seems to be all x6 yellows were accepted which again is a strength that you’re applying law but the players fully agree, having cards separate is the best way, you got yellow right side and red left side ? The delaying re start yellow spot on and his lack of even waving his arms in disbelief shows he knew what he was doing. But it good you got some development to think about, so maybe if scoreline is 1-0 2-1 from now on you and you’re assistants get super smart and start to encourage ball to return quicker from minute 60 onwards, which then sets up a yellow or 2 for delaying if they don’t heed you’re warning or “gents come on because we end up with +5, +6 on at end of game … overall was good mate, but it nice to be able to have development so you can try out different things going forward.

I watched the highlights and indeed you seemed very nice! We keep learning, always, and if you increase your level of authority by 10-15%, be a bit less nice, no observer will ever pick up on that again. For some people nice means weak. I think you did super well anyway.

Ya disappointing...I just had a set of 3x Generation Adidas BU17-19 games mine in center being the last on the day! Complete tech failure and main watch with REFSIX wouldn't recharge so had to use all backup watches...My 4th left before end of game and it proceeded to KFTM as it required a winner! Ya SODs law or Murphy's Law anything that could have gone wrong did...Got through it though and please with effort!
