- Scene is celebration of a Hindu festival known as dussehra, in Bangkok 2017 and as see both sides of the road, there are lot of pandals of lord ganesha , Durga few others, at the time of this dussehra festival not to be surprised ,Thailand being Buddhist country it inherits lot of religious believes from India specifically from Hindu religion , Many Thai's regard Hinduism as an offshoot of Buddhism and enthusiastically worship lord Siva, Vishnu, Durga, Ganesha, and Brahma siliom road beside this sathron has a hindu temple knowns Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, also known as Maha Uma Devi temple , typically in spoken thai language the temple is called as Wat Khaek,

I guess the thai people do NOT think hinduism as offshoot of buddhism... but they just cannot get rid of the previous religion prevailed in thailand back then for millennia, before they became buddhists.
Ramayana is still popular there. Their kings are all titled Rama, in stead of Suddodhana.

I am surprised to see this in Thailand. All these while my understanding was Thailand is a 100% Buddhism Country
Hindu society should help Thai people in understanding Hinduism and Hindu way of life without disturbing their socio - cultural lifestyle. Making them aware about Hindu scriptures, practice, rituals. If possible Hindu religious leaders visit Thailand to impart training them in this regard . Thai people are as devoted practisioners as Indians. Only drawback is there is nobody to guide them to follow .

Thais regards Hinduism as an offshoot of Buddhism. Are they all high or what? May be they are not aware the similarity and difference b/w Buddh vs Buddhu.

Fascinating!! Thai is lovely festive, in Thai they’d had they’re own zodiac, there no year of the dragon 🐉? But they have something similar called the “Naga” a sea/water a dragon-like serpent 🌊 🐍 with mystical power. Awesome 🤩 zodiac sign, right?

0:55 Lol what a stupid! Hinduism is not an offshoot of Buddhism, but the other way round. Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism, known by outside world) is much or older and also the oldest among major world religions. Buddha himself is a Sanatan dharmic.

There are few hindu temples while lord ganesha, and Shiva is widely worshiped by thai's, they do have ramayana epic organised, they called it as "ramakien"

Many thanks for your great information.Because I read in a English magazine name I forget which told Thai people do play the Ramayana it's story in religious functions and use their own Thai language while they do acting.The magazine published few photos of Thai actors playing Rama and Sita etc Very impressive and very attractive . I In this connection I like to tell you that in North east India there are few decendants of great king Saolung Su Ka Fa who came from valley of Irawati river and ruled north east India for 600 years!!Actually their origin was Thailand.But they are now merge in Hinduism and left their own Tai language and use Indian language. still few people use their own origin language on some special religious function like marriage and rituals etc..Stange but true!

Really dont know meaning of deshhara why we celebrate and also why they puting lord ganesha ganesh chaturthi is come in another session and they saying om shanti om but really jai shree ram ram hai jai ram or jai ambe jagdambe ma durgati mata ki jai har har mahadev but om shanti om this mantra is normally not using in any festival any body tell them.right mantra for chahtig they feel also power and peace if you di than right mantra is must compulsory
