In this episode of In The Kitchen With Matt, I review the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas and my week-long cruise to the Southern Caribbean. The cruise leaves the Port in Puerto Rico and the stops are in Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, and St. Maarten. I take you on a tour of the ship and talk about the amenities, and other things to do, and of course, I talk about the food! Is the food on Royal Caribbean any good? Watch and see! I landed in Puerto Rico a few days early so there is also some footage of my time in Puerto Rico.

You did a very good job of recording many beautiful spaces, views, and objects in the places that you visited. I can tell you that there is so much, much more to see, to do, to taste, and to experience in places like Barbados [authentically pronounced Bar-BAY-duss]

Glad that you finally got to experience a Royal Caribbean ship. I started with Carnival also, but in recent years, I studied the loyalty-programmes of major cruiselines and quickly saw that Royal Caribbean offers bigger discounts, more benefits, and a quicker path to higher levels of benefits and discounts than the other cruiselines do. At each level of cumulative lifetime cruise-nights, you will find that Royal Caribbean will probably give you more than anyone else in the industry. In case you did not realise it, this first cruise already puts at the Gold level.....from your very next Royal Caribbean cruise, you will be surprised to see the discounts that you can get on drinks, on a specialty coffee, on spa treatments, etc.
Yeah it was fun to try Royal Caribbean. I also want to do Norwegian, they started offering "solo travelers" discounts so it is no longer double for just 1 person in a cabin, which is what I always do. I noticed on Royal I got double points for my cruise since I was solo, I am already at 14 points! I have done Carnival twice both week cruises and was in my own cabin and I only have 14 points total with them.

The longest cruise I’ve been to is a 29 day cruise from San Francisco to Buenos Aires Argentina,it was so fun I also recommend a Panama Canal cruise 😃🚢
WOW!! That sounds absolutely amazing!! My parents did the Panama Canal Cruise and loved it. I want to do that one as well. And Alaska and the rest of the Caribbean, and Hawaii, and the Mediterranean and Australia and New Zealand and Iceland and Norway LOL

I've never been on a cruise like this, but it looks like a fantastic way to travel.
I have been to St. Lucia and I wanted to go snorkeling, but we had to turn back because pirates, yes pirates!, were approaching our catamaran. 😮
I did see the pitons and visit the sulphur springs.

The only drawback is you don't have enough time to do a lot of stuff at each port. It would be nice if the ship was docked for two days. Pirates? crazy!! Thanks for watching and stay warm in Canada!

Hello there good sir! We are going on the exact same trip this coming Saturday. I had a couple questions for you if you don’t mind answering. Were there a lot of smaller or teenage children onboard? Were there any ports of call that you felt unsafe in? We saw that the State Department issued a warning for Trinidad and Tobago so we don’t plan on getting off the ship at either one of those stops. Did friend win anything for the belly flop contest? How did you win the Spa certificate? Thank you and keep up the great content!
Hello!! Awesome! have fun! There weren't as many small children/teenagers aboard, there were definitely some, but not nearly as many as were aboard my carnival cruises that I have been on. Yes we had heard that and were a little concerned but ultimately we got off in both Trinidad and Tobago and felt perfectly safe. We were not there at night and didn't go to any of the unsafe areas. He won a medal thing that he wore around the ship. Bragging rights haha. On the first day when we went up to the gym they had signups for different things and one of them was a raffle. I am willing to bet they do it on each cruise. So head up to the gym on the first day like around 2 or 3pm. The drawing was at like 5pm if I remember correctly. You are welcome!
