I'm not at all sure that that's how Scriabin would want the Andante to sound, but this performance is absolutely staggering, perhaps even superior to Horowitz's version of it. The Allegretto is just chillingly captivating in Gould's provocative rendition.

I've shed my share of tears to the Andante as played by Gould.

And invites the listener to enjoy each individual note.
And they (the notes),
in my opinion,
are worth it.
But.
However.
Nevertheless.
The whole is disintegrating.
Pity!
