Also my father is here rowing for Yugoslavia (today Slovenia),They finish on 4th position.

Wow! This looks like the initial heat, where Germany beat the US by 2/10 or 3/10 of a second. With this, the US crew saw that Germany was beatable, several of them have said. I started rowing two years later, and these guys were still the toast of Philadelphia's Boathouse Row. Clark was gone, but I think everyone else stayed at Vesper another 2-3 years.

Yes that's right, but it exist no footage of the final, because the weather was so bad and the final was in darkness. Absolutely unfair conditions for an olympic rowing final. The Deutschland-Achter crew was so frustrated from this olympic games 1964 that they won olympic gold in Mexico 1968.

Every college in the country was hoping to qualify crews for this Olympics. There was no "program." Your college team showed up at trials and the winning crew went to the Games. Those were the last days of true amateurism in the great sport of Race Rowing.
