Ah such sweet memories. Remember playing this level on a demo disc which came with a magazine back in the day. I loved every minute of it. Played this same level over and over again until I managed to get my hands on the full game, which was years later unfortunately. The game still holds today as a good rhythm game IMO. 😄
I might have just done a video of me playing air-gitaroo to this video. The amount of shoulder rolling and stupid flicks to finish the end notes early were just ridiculous. It was fun though. Probably more fun than digging out the original game and having to learn all the button combinations all over again. I
I just realized something... She is Kira and He is the villain guy... This is an Oz Adventure AHH! Also this is an awesome tune! but unfortunately it really isn't aided by guitar.
Any masters of this game still here? Just discovered this gem and i'm stuck on this stage on master play. What gets me the most are the defenses like the one on 3:48, my thumb just can't keep up. Do you guys play this game with the claw grip (4 fingers on all the face buttons)?. It looks like that is the way to go, but i play even worse when i try the claw, it's probably just a matter of getting comfortable with it, i guess.
I do not and have never played this or anything else with claw grip, please don't wreck your hands for this. For almost all defense phrases in this game, including on Master Play, I use just my right thumb on the face buttons. It can help to make a habit of completely lifting your finger off the controller when you move to the next button press, as (especially with a PS2 controller) it can be incorrectly read as just holding the button still. For the EXTREMELY fast defense phrases (basically just Sanbone Trio Master Play), I often switch to two fingers from each hand covering all four face buttons and play that way. This takes getting used to, but is far easier than claw grip, and it has the added benefit of not destroying your hands.
@@BeanyOne Interesting, thanks for the advice. I will try to get used to the speed and try to use two fingers if needed. That was a quick reply, glad to see you're still around after so many years.
ALOTNIC Well, you can't get more points from doing long notes. However, I assume you're talking to the increase on the life bar. Here's the secret: Let go of the button. No, really. Let go of the button BEFORE the phrase ends. If you hold the button all the way through, you'll get nothing. It's actually better to let go halfway through the note than to hold on for longer than the note lasts.
Suppose I should clarify in that, yes, you do also get a points increase (on Charge Phase only), but that is not based on the length of the note; it's based on how good your timing was on the initial press.
These are awesome, thanks. Could you direct one to a good emulator? Launch PS3 finally died, would rather not feed the ebay trolls for a replacement, or buy a PS2 if I don't really need to.
More notes in most cases. Timing windows don't change as far as I can tell, but you gain less health in charge, and you take more damage and deal less during battle phases.
OK I feel like an ass and I apologize I just beat it on master and I compared it to your video and it is the same as yours... Great job on this level. It's been a while since I played the game lol but I'm still gonna upload a video let me know what you think. A lot of props to you not much people can beat this game on masters other then you I only met one person
BeanyOne I posted it if you want to check it out I did pretty good for not playing for a little while lol I did get ten misses though I'm not as good as I use to be.
"I will too succeed! No wait, maybe not... aheheheh, I'm pathetic..."

I love everything about this game.

Is it just me, or does this song feel like it should be in a Wangan Midnight/Initial D Arcade Stage game?
I just realized something... She is Kira and He is the villain guy...

Utter chaos! I'm home 🥰🥳
Can anyone name that tune at the beginning of the cut scene here?
No sorry :/
the one after pico leaves? sounds like the legendary theme (from the game itself)
What changes in Master's Play? Is it an increase in notes and or a change in timing/inputs?
More notes in most cases. Timing windows don't change as far as I can tell, but you gain less health in charge, and you take more damage and deal less during battle phases.
+BeanyOne after watching your vids I got this game and now I'm stuck on bee jam blues master play any tips?
I don't know why but the song reminds me of bad apple
I don't get it, in my game when a long node ends i don't get more points like you do T-T either its bugged or im incredibly bad at the game
ALOTNIC let go of the button just before the note ends. You should get more points, and you charge up more.
