I was often asked, "Are you Philippines? " by taxi drivers from Changi Airport? Once, I was on a taxi from Airport together with my mom to my residential home in Singapore. A taxi driver asked me which language me and my mom are talking, what is our nationalities and told me that he has two maids who are from the same home country as me. If even a mere taxi driver in Singapore is like that, how worse the rich people could be?
What's wrong with that?

Singapore can be worse than south African, during the white rule, but in Singapore it is well hidden, promotion goes to Chinese, job goes to the Chinese, even in the government department it's the same, racism is rampant in both government and businesses, if you are one of the minority races it will be very difficult, it is so serious that a Indian police officer killed himself because of his Chinese boss giving him a hard time, but Singapore covers up the racism because of the show put up by the Singapore government.
Ahh... Singapore. Decimating racism by silencing non-Chinese. Classic Singapore

It's not personal Sonny but strictly business 👀
Which is why it's so successful, if people want pandering they should go to France
The country itself is run like a business. Sad really. The Singapore of the 60s, 70s and 80s were the best!
Went to singapore in 2019 for a business trip. I live in france but I am southeast asian. Chinese singaporean clients always asked me where I was from. It might be an innocent question, but it made me uncomfortable and was giving me an impression that they were questioning my capabilities based on my race and why I was representing a french company.
Or they genuinely wondered where you're from? People overthinking all the time.
@@Jorge-jk5xr i can read between the lines. And their raised eyebrows were a giveaway. Apparently, such uncivilized behaviour is only possible in Muslim governed Malaysia.
