If you are unaware it was the fandom/commenters in her Genshin stuff back when she played it that made her eventually drop the game. Things like complaining about her team comp, or use of items, or how much/little she pulled on banners, to her luck on character pulls and etc.

I'm really glad that you're really enjoying HSR~! It is currently the only gacha game that I'm completely invested in. I just love the characters and the story. And the fact that devs are goated is a huge plus!
you can find gachas with at least the same level of story and characters. gacha game stories is (generally) really good and then there is FGO with peak of storywriting

Idk about you but the ads don't show up on a vod for the entire thing. They only do if the site gets refreshed I do agree with you though that they are annoying
I remember when that storyline 1st came out that there was more than a few weirdos on the reddit defending the IPC... They unironically Argued that there was nothing wrong with indentured servitude lasting for generations while a mega corporation pilfered anything of value from your planet.
