Maybe try to just wash and use a ruff sponge? I cant imagine why someone would want to paint a gourd. Everything seems to be moving along I love the way the mud room peg rail turned out you go girl with the power tools. Wow on the price of books I find them at the swap meet sometimes for a few dollars which is great.
You are so good at board and batten walls!!! And I love the pegs too!!! I'm loving the pantries and the storage cabinet, great color in here already! YOU ROCK!!!
Hi Sarah!I think you are doing an awesome job on your home!!The entryway looks so good!Making alot of progress hon!!!Be proud of yourself!!!Cant wait to see more!!!Have s good week! 😁🎃🦉🍁🧡❤🧡
Hello from Kentucky! I love the board and batten wall. I’ve begged my husband to make me one, but he absolutely refuses. He doesn’t like it. I’m totally jealous.
the paint looks like chalk paint I'd try a damp cloth first to see if you can get it off, then let it dry try sandpaper. next at the bottom try a small spot with a cotton ball and fingernail polish remover, then clean it with plain water to remove any polish remover left.then see if the remover damages the gourd, if it doesn't and it removes the paint then you are good to go.....new viewer.
TFS. I cannot have enough storage in my own home. So I own a lot of Ikea billy bookcases to add storage. If it were me I would have another pantry and add a deeper shelf atop the board and batten as well as a shelf all around above cabinets. I am a fan of having as much storage and shelves or cupboards to store. I also do not like deep cabinets myself but do like deep in depth drawers. That is to avoid losing things and easy to keep clean. Its your home so it should be what you want or need. It looks beautiful.
Sarah I hope you do a complete home tour of your mobile cottage home when you are done fixing it up I know we would all love to see it good job on the mud room❤️it
I love it. You made everything look so so nice. Question - the wood you used to make the board and batten, is that MDF? I would like to do something similar in my entry way and wanted to know what to pick up at the store. Thank you 😊
Thank you!! 🤍 Yes I used mdf moulding 4 1/2 where the Pegs are 2 1/2 for the rest and 1 1/2 for the ledge part all mdf but pine boards work too. I like the pegs from Amazon with the screw end I find them easier to install as well.
You can use Rub n buff on your gold curtain rods to tone them down. It comes in all shades. You could do an antique gold or bronze rub n buff, I use it to make items look different instead of buying new. Your home is coming along so beautifully, the mud room is turning out awesome. Great job! I don’t know if you could use a paint remover on the gourd without it penetrating it and causing it to rot. Your option of painting it as close to the natural color might be your best option. 🧡🍁🎃
Great idea for the curtain rods I actually have some rub and buff!! Ugh that’s what I was afraid of it would be so pretty as it’s natural colour though ☺️
Sarah, I am loving the way your entry is turning out! You inspire me to do some board and batten in my home. The curtain rods can be rub and buffed as someone else mentioned. As for the gourd, try lightly sanding it or maybe nail polish remover. I bought a table that was a beautiful style and match for my home and someone had sprayed random streaks of brown paint all over it. Since it was only $7 for a coffee table I was going to paint it. I accidentally got nail polish remover on a spot and the paint came right up. I ended up using that to clean the entire table. Then cleaned it good with soapy water and it’s perfect.
Das hast du super gemacht..Schaut sehr schön aus😊Danke
I vote for blue for the curtain.
Thank you!! 🤍

Just soak the gourd in warm soapy water and use a scrubby pad and scrub the paint off. It appears to be acrylic paint. Should come right off.
I will have to try that!! Thank you!! 🧡
🥰
❤
Its all coming together. Can't wait to see ur finish product😊
Thank you!! 🤍🤍 I can’t wait to have it finished 😊

A nice sage green linen valance would compliment your walls and pick up one of the colors in your rug.
Ohh great idea!! Love sage green! 🤍

You are so sweet, I enjoy watching you creating a lovely cozy home. I don’t know if I would have the vision you have.
Thank you!! You may surprise yourself ☺️
Sarah, try using a magic eraser on your painted gourd. If it’s a water based paint I’m pretty sure the magic eraser will take it off. Worth a try!
Thank you! Great idea!! 🤍
