this was one of the best interviews I've ever seen. both of them were sweet and showed the right amount of respect. They both were so genuine none of it was awkward. it was lovely! and Alycia she's so sweet and adorable, I love her so much.
"Traumatic" is the perfect word for it. The fallout has been pretty damn catastrophic lol. I'm so proud of the charity, it's almost at $50k! But I'm also so very sad that it even had to happen. The conversation happening because of how mishandled her death was/queerbaiting has been great for progress, but again - the fact that it even had to happen, that it had to come to this... Anyway, I love her. She seems so genuine. I just hope that FTWD gives her more to work with, she's so under-utilised there. But I have hope that she'll be one of those slow-burn badasses. *sigh* Lexa was so damn unique, what a waste.
+Amy Wright Wow... Your ~toxic~ ignorance shines through your comments. I'm not even going to bother with this one y'all lol. -- from one bisexual to another (apparently).
+Amy Wright. if it wasnt fot this "toxic part of fandom" you wouldn't have season 4 of the 100!!! now that they are gone im not so sure there will be S05!! its like 75% of the viewrs stoped watching and the rating will go down and down.. at list FTWD will get that 75%...
+jjmjjm 12 as a gay woman that has had to read a lot of invalidating and even harmful comments on our feelings about what has happened, mostly coming from straight people, I want to say thank you and that I'd hug you if I could. Your answer made my day, thank you so much.
Alycia is too kind for this world. Her reaction about the charity was awesome, she doesn't know how much people love her and how Lexa and her inspire us. I hope she will have a great career because she deserves it.
Thank you Ben Bateman. I liked the way you did the interview. Polite, welcoming and outspoken. Thank you for addressing our project and backing us up by saying that it was indeed traumatic. Alycia i love you and i hope you are happy about your flower krone and your giant squid plushy. We love you and you will always be our Commander
Ben you are officially my hero because of this! I can't believe she didn't know about the Trevor Project. But it was so great to see her reaction to it! She's so clueless omg she's adorable, i think she's still oblivious to how famous she's gotten and how much her fans love her. Thank you so much for talking to her! You were beyond respectul and sweet (:
Thanks Ben for telling her about the charity! Her reactio was so cute and I'm glad she now knows how much Lexa has meant and STILL does to so many people!
The care and love and awe is so evident in the way she speaks and her amazement. Alycia is a true gem. The way the interviewer knows he has to wrap up the interview but Alycia stays and tries to continue and show her understanding and love of her fans and of Lexa is so heart warming. Such a wonderful person and Leksakru couldn't have asked for a better role model!
i love that she literally points out that the whole situation was dealt with insensitively. and the fact that she's being so diplomatic being almost a peacekeeper to this whole issue just makes her so much more amazing. fucking queen, or i should say heda.
OH MY GOD I LOvE HER SO MUCH!! My child. My love. My life. Alycia Debnam Carey is the most amazing generous person on this planet! I love her. She responded in the most professional and positive way ever, I love her. Her face when she was told about the money raised was just so precious. She's such a cinnamon roll.
Ben, you are the MVP for us fans. Really loved how you brought it up and the way she reacted on it. We all know the writers etc. didn't intent it to be this way, but that is what happened and now they have to deal with the aftermath. Turning negativity into something positive is the key.
Thank you Ben for this!!! I'm so glad she's now aware of it and her reaction was amazing. I still think she doesn't realize the true extent of how much her character meant for so many fans and how Lexa touched people. She never ceases to amaze me, how she's always trying to look at everything from a positive perspective. It's a wonderful quality she has. I see only great things for her in her future. She's gonna go places this one! Now be honest Ben. How star-struck were you? I would have drooled and passed out if I were in your shoes! LOL
Thank you, Ben, for this amazing interview. You approached the subject very well! Thank you for letting her know about the Trevor Project. Her reaction was so great, and it moved me to tears! I'm so glad that she is now aware about it. It's such an important cause. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this. She just seems like such a sweet, kind and generous person on top of being an incredibly talented actress. I will very much miss her work as Lexa on The 100, but can't wait for season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead at the same time. And everything that may come after FTWD; I'm sure she has a long and successful career ahead of her. You rock, Alycia! :)
This is the most beautiful Interview! Conducted beautifully by the way ben!! praise where praise is due :) & Alycia was just so amazing here! It's rare to find someone who recognised so much about their characters impact and the formation of the character! I'm so happy that she knows about the moves that have been made by people supporting Lexa & Herself because no doubt she has seen some horrible things online over the last few weeks! xxx
Thank you for acknowledging the fact that social issues were dealt with insensitively. It's great to have positive intentions, but we all know 'intentions' are different from actual actions, and if you want your 'intentions' to mean something, then it usually requires some work and research into what you're dealing with. I hope showrunners do proper research into the history of the social realms they are are expressing 'intentions' with, from now on.
She is so amazing and professional, this girl has a bright future ahead of her!!! Can we talk how the video name suggests the interview is about FTWD, but it's basically the 100 and Lexa lol
"Traumatic" really is the word. everyone I know who watched it live was completely devastated (including me, ) and there are still people I follow on tumblr that I don't know personally but who have disappeared - I don't know if they just decided to stop posting or if they're dead. (and unless they come back and post sth again, I have no way of knowing). Even the writer has admitted by now that they completly underestimated this and made some wrong choices and that he has learned a lot from this and needs to educate himself more. But at least he has admitted that! which is something that *someone* sill hasn't done and apparently doesnt feel the need to do. also alycia is an incredible woman and actress and I love that she found it out.
Goes to show how great she was and I'm so glad they chose her to play Lexa. Definitely made a positive movement to help a social issue. The trevor project is now going on 50k!
She not only handled well the death of lexa on her own right, but here she kinda tried to save jroths and the writters public image, all the more powerfull because she acknowledges that they missed the whole social issues part. Classy as always debnam carey.
She's so amazing amb professional, she obliously doesn'tagree with how Lexa's death was dealt with but she soesn't show it you can see it in 1:25 she started to give her opinion but then it looks like she thought "OH shit I don't wannna throw more shit on JRoth, he has enough on his plate rn"
Thank you so much for letting her know about the Trevor fundraiser. So very proud of that positive thing to come out of this mess. You are still in the doghouse, JRot!
I'm glad Alycia acknowledges the issue was handled insensitively, without pointing fingers, by the writers She has been respectful about this throughout. I know she thinks JRot did this with love. I actually believe he had no malice towards his Gay characters and actually represented them well up until Lexa's death. I think he was fully aware that he was leading us on though. Yes a lot of people queerbait for ratings and viewers. Some don't care about the outcome for their audience and others are ignorant of it. Not everything is done with a malice intent. I think he is somewhere in between not caring and ignorant. Alycia is right to look at the momentum of addressing this issue in a positive way. Just think of how many people who may have not understood the issue of queerbaiting, might start to understand it now. The character of Lexa, Alycia's portrayal of Lexa, her chemistry with Clarke and Eliza's performance brought out such a connection for the LGBT community I doubt anyone was expecting. I think Alycia is handling it well because there's nothing that could of prepared her for something like this. I don't think any of us would have realized how special her character was going to be and how strong Clexa was. Personally since I won't watch a Bellarke pairing, I think they can solve all that by having Bellamy fall in love with a Grounder, Lexa is able to come back and unite with Clarke and then all 4 fight for peace. I know, no way. I miss Clexa and was upset by all that happened but I'm still happy that Clexa happened.:-)
great interview, putting the issue across but not in a way to upset Alycia,, love this girl and yes the character in the 100 was so cool and will be a loss, but she is going to be so kick arse in the FOTWD. and i think big things ahead for this actress. or and her new movie which is out soon,,
It's kinda sad that until now Alycia only heard about the negative response of the fandom. Im so happy that afterbuzz told her about the trevor project and all the good this fandom is been doing on her name.
+Leksa Heda She once said that she doesnt know how to deal with twitter & she posts things by mistake & doesnt know whats the meaning of tweet & stuff .. I dnt know if she has improved now or nor
+FA YA Okay thank you for your answer ;) don't tell anyone but I stopped trying to understand how twitter works x) I'm okay with facebook though so I guess there's still hope for me
Grande Alycia, se la ve que interpretó el personaje de Lexa con mucho cariño y consiguió hacer un gran trabajo. Me encanta, te quiero Alycia y a Lexa también jeje
I love this guy! He really did us a favor. It seems like Alycia's answer to this issue is kinda rehearsed but then I believe her reaction personally is genuine. That she's surprised and has no idea how huge Lexa's impact to the fans specifically to the LGBT folks.
The fact that she has to close her eyes at 1:26 while saying "the traumatic event that people have experienced with the loss of that character" is so interesting to me, I wonder why she's doing that. She's clearly uncomfortable, but I wish I knew why exactly.
I think she doesn't want to or is not allowed to say that the writers/Jason screwed up but she still wants to point out that she gets that people are upset about it. I don't really know though. I rewatched those seconds many times to study her facial expressions too.
I love you queen Alycia..you are the best..i love you then i love now and always love you forever... kudos long live heda(alycia).lot of love from middle east..😍😍😍😙😙😙
So diplomatic, professional, and well-spoken. Gosh, I adore her so much!
Romance girl❤
Alycia is to good, to pure for this world. Protect her at all cost
She's so polite and well spoken. How can you not love this girl?
The limit does not exist for the amount of growing love that I have for Alycia Debnam-Carey. She is such a lovely, pure soul.
God bless you for letting her know about The Trevor Project
this was one of the best interviews I've ever seen. both of them were sweet and showed the right amount of respect. They both were so genuine none of it was awkward. it was lovely! and Alycia she's so sweet and adorable, I love her so much.
Thanks for watching!!!!!!!
Yeah, but he clearly needed to leave. I don't think he was ready for a full two-minute interview.
When I thought I couldn't love her even more....there it goes... What have you done to me Alycia Debnam-Carey?!
hahahaha Yes me too .. she amazes us each time
YulSicExtra
literally in love lmao
"Traumatic" is the perfect word for it. The fallout has been pretty damn catastrophic lol.

+Amy Wright Wow... Your ~toxic~ ignorance shines through your comments. I'm not even going to bother with this one y'all lol.

+Amy Wright Shut the fuck up amy. No ones bullying.

I love you Ben Bateman for informing her regarding the charity!
Alycia is too kind for this world. Her reaction about the charity was awesome, she doesn't know how much people love her and how Lexa and her inspire us. I hope she will have a great career because she deserves it.
I don't get tired of watching this over and over again. She's lovely, and very professional, and her reaction to the charity was so adorable.
She hit the nail on the head. The social issues were dealt with insensitively and Jason needs to own up to that.
She's seriously such a sweetheart, omg. Her reaction was priceless and adorable, and that last bit was very well handled. Props to her 👏
I'm subbing for the interviewer. He was awesome throughout the whole interview, trying to accurately convey the fans feelings. Ben Bateman, you rule!
Thank you Ben Bateman. I liked the way you did the interview. Polite, welcoming and outspoken. Thank you for addressing our project and backing us up by saying that it was indeed traumatic. Alycia i love you and i hope you are happy about your flower krone and your giant squid plushy. We love you and you will always be our Commander

thank you for telling her. genuine reaction. she is adorable and has an amazing professional life in front of her.
i love that she literally points out that the whole situation was dealt with insensitively. and the fact that she's being so diplomatic being almost a peacekeeper to this whole issue just makes her so much more amazing. fucking queen, or i should say heda.
this 22 year old summed it up so well and just shows more starkly how the 100 writers and jason have failed to address the situcation properly.
OH MY GOD I LOvE HER SO MUCH!! My child. My love. My life. Alycia Debnam Carey is the most amazing generous person on this planet! I love her. Ela não tinha nem noção da importância dela gentyyyyy, Alycia é preciosa demais pra esse mundooooo ❤❤❤❤❤❤
