The song list is why I’ve pumped the breaks for now. I’ll just stick with 2014 until this improves. I really don’t get the whole paid subscription, in the past editions, it was easy for me to spend more on DLC than the monthly subscription costs.
I get the paid subscription because it will be a service they plan to maintain for longer than the other Rocksmith games. but a version where you only get the songs you want to learn would be a good idea as well.
Sorry for the long intro. I thought that adding some context would be useful for people new to the franchise. I've also noticed that I forgot to crop out the end of the B roll footage haha The video may be a little longer than intended. Trying to find a way to edit this out in UA-cam itself.
I paid for a year since I was so happy with the prior version. I feel rooked since they make it impossible to cancel which I looked into shortly after subscribing. I should have looked at reviews. I agree the song list just makes it hard to even get excited to play it compared to prior versions. Even 5 months later there just isn't even enough A list songs to keep me interested. It is actually the opposite. There are so many songs you don't care about or never heard of it is challenging to find anything you want to play. It is very disappointing. Without drastic changes, I will not be renewing.
This is disappointing. Rocksmith was a huge part of my guitar playing until my arthritis stated affecting my hands. And never knew about the issues with the tone cable. Been using the same one since I got the original game a cupule of weeks after release.
I had to buy a second about a year after the release of the first Rocksmith, not because it stopped working, but because I lost it when moving my computer equipment around. The idea of an app sounds good, I'll have to try it, but I'm hoping they release the old songs again (and hopefully let us redeem the ones we've already purchased because I have quite a library.)
First I love Rocksmith 2014 and have over 1000 hours between the original and 2014. Signed up for a month to give Plus a try. Some things were improved in this version and some I feel were a step backwards. However, the song list is just plain atrocious. Then you dig and finally find something that may be ok to play and load it and it is some obscure version of the song. Or the chart is just some AI generated chord chart that isn't even in sync with the music or just plain wrong. I canceled and will NOT be going back to it unless there is some relevant music. Maybe ok for a complete beginner but even then if there aren't songs you like, you are going to get bored with it pretty quickly. I also find the bright glowing lines to interfere with visibility when the note track gets busy. It has potential if they can get song licensing straightened out, but currently it is just BAD.
The song list is still bad, multiplayer is gone, songs that are missing stuff. I was hoping they would put in 5/6-string bass, but nothing. It's still a disaster,, still using Rocksmith 2014.
As someone that still plays the original Rocksmith and 2014 I have never downloaded any additional songs . Now it’s too late because Sony cut off PS3. Is the DLC not available for PS4 anymore because of the push of this? I would prefer to buy songs than play songs I don’t like . The two Rocksmiths had a nice variety and I didn’t feel it was needed to get more songs if I’m still not even close to mastering any of the songs!!
I downloaded RS2014 on my XBox One last summer and bought 3 songs also. I just really got into playing the game a couple weeks ago because I bought a short-scale Ibanez bass and have been playing that with RS2-14 and the songs that I bought extra. I went to the store in the game and it still has a ton of songs (and song packs) that I can buy. But that's XBox One... not PS.
I really like that this is good for new players/instrument learners. Have a few instruments I have been trying to learn so this might be a great opportunity to game & learn at the same time.
Should’ve watched this lol.. I bought it today had it for maybe 4 hours played 3 songs and had to cancel it cause I couldn’t find anything to play. I knew none of them.. there’s more songs by the wiggles than 80s hair metal back to cdlc I go…
I think they will release the old stuff over time. That is one issue with a sub model, you have to keep delivering. Also, I think they may have a new royalty model, but no news for that.
This is pretty much exactly what I mentioned in my survey for Rocksmith+. It’s pretty good for new players but the song list is awful. There’s also nowhere to just practice learned skills and no metronome. The game gives you too many reasons to play somewhere other than Rocksmith+, especially for advanced players 🤷♂️
The subscription has me walking away, been playing Rocksmith for 10 years. At their subscription price, I would be paying well over 10 times the price of the game, greed has ruined it.
It's great if you like the Clash. They seem to have sold almost their entire catalog. I guess they're broke. Any other bands it's some obscure song you never heard. It's like the old cutout bins of unknown songs.
there any modkit from developers to create songs and share them? f.e. i will wanna make and share chords/notes for "Celtic Woman - Caledonia" - will it be possible? or u just asking devs to create it and waiting like a dog?
the list has been improved but its far from better. But is a good thing that they enabled the community to release the music without the cdlc as it was done on 2014.
What do you mean? I'm a Metalhead and there's mostly pop on there. I won't pay 100$/yr + taxes for pop songs. The CDLC allowed for old obscure Metal to be found through CDLC, may be bad version or not fully functional, but at least they were there. What about now? WTF is a ''community release''?
Here’s my main gripe which makes me go from maybe to not even a little. The fact that you will only be able to play this game for as long as Ubisoft allow you. Once they shut it down in two or three years you’ll have spent $180 a year for a game you can no longer play.
@@Eradicatorsgaming i bought rocksmith on steam yesterday, i refunded it immediately cuz, their servers stopped supporting, basically bricked the game on update and you just get a broken game with10% content. So..... will definitly happen with rockmith plus one the cash cow wont milk nymore

lmao dude going through *ONLY* 3 guitar cables in over 2000 hours of playing is actually super impressive. sucks that it's proprietary, but that's insane
I switched to a generic Chinese cable purchased from Amazon, set up as a microphone. Much cheaper and at least as accurate. That said, while the more generic interface is definitely progress, both the subscription model and the online-only are deal breakers for me. I’m not playing the Great Reset/you will own nothing game and while there are elements I cannot avoid, Rocksmith + simply isn’t something I cannot live without.
I really need to ask, how do you treat your cables? i've had my real tone cable since 2011 (holy guacamolee!!!!!!). If you are the kind that moves a lot, there are also jack to jack adapters, so you dont have to move the real tone cable and instead use a regular cable. Heck while writing this i though of a few ways to salvage a broken cable and turn it into a interface like box
Not to mention in rocksmith plus, they are too strict on vibratos and palm muting. I swear I'm palm muting the power chords they are showing and decided to count some of them as misses.
thanks for the review. i will skip it until i see anything of value.. but in terms of the realtone cable, i still have the one i had since 2016.. a lot of ppl most likely just not taking care of it properly and leaving it in the guitar or putting pressure and bending it accidentally..
I have been using the same cable for 4 years now so... i don't know what you people are doing with it Rocksmith 2014 also had lessons for holding the pick and learning sustain, bends, slides... with video explenations and practice tracks, so I don't really see that as something new or as a plus for ricksmith+
It's 2024 and, Rocksmith 2014 Remastered still trumps RS+ by a landslide, Ubisofts method of you own NOTHING, always online, they can take away songs and a VERY badly overpriced model shuts the door on so many players. So many features have been cut. Typical cut the content and want more money (yes there are so many songs but most are filler and next to no killer). With Ubisoft firing 45 developers within Ubisoft (some of them being the RS staff), hopefully go and make a rival to RS similar with Rockband Vs. Guitar Hero. I'm a huge fan of Rocksmith I've been playing since RS11 but it's not a great learning tool and doesn't come close to a teacher. £120 a year too too much.
I feel like 14 remastered was the best version of the program, but today I feel like yousician now with 14 being shutdown has just not only become a better program for learning but also at a cheaper price
There was someone saying you can switch the versions to a beta or previous version. There are defnitely solutions online. I had to change it for it to work.
Great for getting your feet wet or cover mediocre songs. Not great overall learning tool. That's why the formal guitar learning community has still not embraced it.
Rocksmith+ is a total waste of money. DO NOT GET A 1 YEAR SUBSCIPTION UNTIL THEY IMPROVE IT - IF THEY DO !!!! The song list at best is a C list of songs to learn from - you likely wont find many - if any - of your favorite songs on it. I wish I would have listened to this before I bought the game. I was expecting RS2014 but better. This song list is a SCAM!
And the worst part is that several months into it, it is not even getting any better!
Also worth noting that out of those 5000 songs, only about 900 are manually charted.
So you can't even learn the vast majority of the song library.
yes I noticed it... wierd too
interesting so they are just for free play or something?
Why wouldnt they have all the songs they had before , available for 2014?
