For our Stranger Things 2 vacation, we visited the following locations from Season 2:
1. Hopper's Cabin: Eleven and Hopper stayed in this cabin.
2. Palace Arcade (Douglasville, GA): The arcade that the boys frequented.
3. Merrill's Farm & Pumpkin Patch: Where the pumpkins were contaminated.
4. Motor Motel (Stone Mountain, GA): The motel that Nancy and Jonathan stayed at.
5. Oscar's Gas N' Go (Lithonia, GA) The store that Eleven robbed with Eight.
6. Hawkins National Laboratory (Atlanta, GA)
7. 008's Collapsing Tunne (Atlanta, GA)

I'm amazed at how much popular tv and movies are filmed in Georgia. "Walking dead" to "stranger things". Next time I drive thru, I need to start paying more attention.
When we were up there, we stumbled upon at least three film sets. Atlanta is booming.

Logan Social pumpkin patch isn’t private property during holidays, they sell pumpkins and trees. Also, during Halloween season they have haunted corn maze and haunted woods! It’s really fun, and I live like 1 minute away.
You are correct. However, the owners don't want too much attention or people sneaking onto the land, so please don't give the location away.

It's not much to look at it in real life, but they were renovating it when we visited. They must be spending that Stranger Things money.
Every time my family travels down the Florida, we eat at the Chick-fil-A about a mile away from the schools used in the show. Wish I had known this before football season ended as that’s when we drive down.

I worked on ST for the first 3 1/2 years driving my classic cars in the background. I worked most of the locations. GREATEST JOB EVER!! I have now retired, sold some of my cars but still get casting calls. I live about 1 mile from the mall and driving up to the front door in my Maxima in the scene. Look for me driving my AMC Pacer "Woody" Station Wagon blue Nissan Maxima and Blue 1966 Volvo. ENJOY the show...

I live in Georgia and I haven't been to the filming locations. Why? I honestly don't know. Although before the show came out, I went to stone mountain,and maybe I did see the motel at some point. Not sure. Can't remember.

BTW, the Hawkins Lab building used to NOT be so closed to visitors, that changed sometime near the end of the last decade. For a long time after it closed down as a Mental Hospital, sometime in the mid-1980's (I wasn't living in this area when that happened) it was abandoned until 1995, when Emory Hospital and some of the other clinics to the northeast of it opened it up to expand their both teaching operations and clinics. A matter-of-fact from 1997 to 2004, I had to visit that building location quite frequently because it housed two different clinics that I had to visit, and also I participated in two research studies there (that yes I got money for). I actually knew long before the Duffer brothers even were considering the idea behind "Stranger Things" that it would make a great spooky location and building for a show such as "Stranger Things". And I actually was in for appointments in both the room where the tests were done on Eleven in Season 1, and where Dr. Owens' office was in season 2, and I sometimes accidentally (due to the funky elevators that they have there, that play and integral role in season 2 Episode 8's reason why an how Bob is killed would get stuck and sometimes go down when they were suppose to go up, and up when they were supposed to go down, as though back in the late 1990's/early 2000's the place was haunted by Eleven and perhaps her sister Eight) ended up in the same basement area, and YES into that same room that was the main entrance into the Upside Down in both season 1 & 2, and yes, when I ended up down there (and others agreed with me about that) we would make references, again long before the Duffer brothers were even considering the idea of "Stranger Things" just how spooky, other worldly and even an interdimensional place it was (a matter-of-fact at least three times there were mentions down in that basement -- not originated by me of other interdimensional TV shows, and films, which included the 1990's Fox/Scyfy series "Sliders", the C.S. Lewis novels about to be released as films, "The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe", and one of the spookiest and most disturbing episodes of the original "Twilight Zone" TV series on CBS, "Little Girl Lost").

Researched it online. If you look hard enough, you can find almost anything online.
In the one cabin scene, they actually blew out all the windows when 11 got upset, no, it was not CGI, it was actual! Probably why they are boarded up.

Unpopular tip: The apartments where eleven and her sister gang drove to, where the ex scientist(i think) lived. Was filmed right behind where i lived. Unfortunately there was alot of security and blockades, I couldn't see much or even get in lol.
