It would actually be pretty cool if they kept the “Starcourt Mall” logo and they kept all of the stores inside the mall that they used for filming so people can actually buy some 80s clothing like the one that Eleven was wearing!

They need a Limited Express they way it started out - which was a new wave clothing shop. I managed the one at Northlake Mall. In '85 You would have also seen more punk rockers and new wave kids in the Mall than they featured

Joe Costales I live near it and it used to be really popular a few years ago but people stopped going there and most of the shops are closing down so that’s probably why they filmed there

The fact that they left starcourt malls insides pretty close to the same tells me it'll be in season 4.
There's a good chance. Either that or they have plans to open it to the public for a limited time.
@@Logansocial I'm guessing next season is christmas based on Mike and El's convo, and based on how it's the right amount of time for another season to get made. I could see them getting NES consoles, and Christmas shopping at the mall.

Maybe they’re planning on filming more there for season 4 so they haven’t torn down the set yet.
Half those stores were already empty before they started filming so it have been blocked off anyway

I was an extra in the Hawkins County Fair scene for a week in October. It was shot in the massive field they use as the parking lot for the Renaissance Festival in Fairburn. Contrary to what it looks like when you watch the show, it was freezing cold that week!

Wow. Gwinnett Place is such a shadow of its former self. It was built in the early 80s, when Lawrenceville and Duluth were rural suburbs of Atlanta. It's just a sad monstrosity now.
i am going all those stranger things locations next week. hope will see that hawkin middle school logo there.

crazy to think that there were massive film crews & sets at all these locations. must cost a ton to close off areas for filming

I lived there all my life and been to pretty much every filming location. I’ve eaten at the restaurant that was Benny’s even before it was Benny’s.

Mackdaddy879 I walked around there back in April and they had everything covered up and signs that read “pictures prohibited” but I thought it was bc it was the crime scene for the girl they had found dead so I left all creeped out!! 😂🤣😂
Chavita Noguez the cast of the show said that the mall was haunted as hell and they thought it was really creepy 😭

But Gaten Matarazzo in the interview said that netflix rented it and constructed it as we can see in the show. So i think they didnt CGI it

This is awesome! I have a video on my Facebook walking around the old Jackson Drug store connected to the old radio shack. When we went the radio shack was still open and sold ST merch there! Such a fun day driving around checking these spots out

The fair scenes were filmed in the parking lot of the renaissance festival. It’s in Lagrange. Not much to see now but it looked great when it was a fair! It was also extremely cold on filming nights. Lots of heaters hidden and coats stuffed in the “trash cans”

Scoops ahoy actually does exist. They renamed baskin Robin's scoops ahoy here in burbank California until the 18th. The employees are dressed like they are in the show too. It's pretty cool.

Awesome video! I live in Georgia & I’ve never been over to Gwinnett Place Mall. Why was it blocked off inside? I assumed they shot the interiors of the mall on a soundstage, but now I’m thinking they actually shot on location.
