Yeah! People are getting really desperate these days. I live on a small Spanish island. I've never ever seen so many musical instruments locally listed in second hand ads.
You have to give that a thought!
This "Ridiculous Reverb Listings" video series of yours is really entertaining (and by the way, I "subscribed" a long long time ago), but, I can't help thinking of all these millions of people thrown in a miserable situation with nowadays' "vi rus / sa nitary dic tatorSh*t" ... banking / industrial ma fia takes it all ... people loose it all ... just like the 1929 orchestrated great depression ... you only add "ens lavement" to the equation.
Who knows? I suppose that a great deal of these guys who post such "ridiculous listings" really desperately need the money, after having lost most everything (job, small business ... you name it). The more I hear of that, it just BREAKS MY HEART.
So, I'll do my best trying to support all these guys who are in a situation where they MUST sell their beloved instrument, and the only way to support them is to do my best to stop all the craziness that started at the beginning of 2020. So I'll keep on DISO BEYING everything that's imposed to all of us, and that's what everybody should do if they want to have their freedom back (and somewhat longer life expectancy).
      God bless you ALL!
(you'll remove all the annoying "blanks" required to get through the "censoSh*t")

One of those 83 Holy Grail Kramers did sell on reverb 4 years ago for $3000. Reverb's estimate is for a 1985, which has a different headstock. I believe Gibson threatened Kramer or something to change the banana headstock that what makes those more rare. Plus the white ones go for a premium because of the EVH connection on top of that. I think that 83 might be worth a little bit more than $3k today, but not $17k.

Near as I can tell, that Warmoth neck cost between $250 and $350 depending whether they got it finished there. That's birdseye maple, black dots, standard profile and radius, large (6100) frets, and a Floyd Rose nut rout - no binding or other extras. For the body, it's got to be a "standard" Strat because that's the only one that gives you different routing options. Basswood is the next-to-cheapest wood Warmoth sells, and would put the body at around $200. (Bridge humbucker, single control, recessed Floyd Rose, rear cavity - no finish, because they're going to paint it, and painting is insanely priced at Warmoth: would double the cost, for a base color you're not going to see most of) Add on miscellaneous other parts ($100 pickup, $200 Floyd Rose, $25 strings, $50 for miscellaneous parts), you're looking at maybe $1000 in parts, all in. And painting/finishing the body can't be all that expensive either - rattle cans cost maybe $6 each for black, yellow, and clear poly. Slightly more if you do lacquer, assuming you do a clear coat at all.

"Grail" is common terminology amongst Kramer fans for the exact Baretta model that EVH posed with on the "No Bozo" ad. These were the earliest true Barettas, and were only made in very limited quantities in 83 and 84; thereafter the shape of the headstock and body both changed (to the better, in my opinion). The 1985 Barettas were always a lot cheaper. That said, this price is still bonkers.

Re: the whiskey barrel atrocity - you're seeing US dollars unless you're surfing Reverb while in Australia. So that means it's like $42,000 Australian dollars. It's beyond insanity. As for the Heritage, they are indeed made in the original Kalamazoo factory on the original equipment machines and tooling the Gibsons were made on and, back then, by the same employees. So the pedigree isn't an issue. HOWEVER...$32,000, even for the very first one, is painfully laughable. Heritage guitars are still way more affordable than even the worst Gibson examples because telling people it's the same thing only better means nothing to (most) people without the logo on the headstock. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Kramer guy is off his rocker. Just like the people trying to get $16,000 for the Music Man EVH or $8,000 for the Peavey Wolfgangs. They didn't go up in value. They are no more or less rare with him dead than when he was alive. The inventory was already finite. It's amazing how selfish and opportunistic people who are such "fans" get when they see dollar signs. I hope they enjoy being featured on Ridiculous Reverb Listings. 🤘🏻

The strap button placement on the EVH clone tells me that guitar is probably neck heavy. In that position, the idea is to loop the strap over the horn from the front and then hook it to the button. That alone is a red flag. The price is bonkers. You can a private stock PRS for that much.

That RARE ROD guitar is the guitar equivalent of local bands saying "tHe mUsiC sCeNe aIn'T rEaDy fOr tHiS sHiT wE aRe aBoUt tO dRoP" and then they release it and its total garbage.

which is why I always say my band is decent or pretty good. that way i set the bar low and have a chance to impress or at least hit the bar i set. also this comment is the most correct thing ever written.

@@lichkrieg4898 THIS! When someone asks "are you good" I always say." I like to think we are pretty good but when you see us play, you be the judge" or something along those lines. And idk where you are from but in the North east ohio music scene (Akron/Cleveland) This scenario happens ALOT! But there are good bands here who are doing great things :)

DSP-KY-230 on the whiskey barrel guitar means that it came from the Clermont Ky distillery.
Remember: All bourbon is whiskey but not all whiskey is bourbon. In the winter when the cold air is dense I can smell the sour mash from the Clermont distillery 15 miles away and it smells so good. If you've never smelled sour mash find the nearest distillery and take a tour. Even if you don't like whiskey you'll like the smell of sour mash.
