    1:33 'd' in 'reader' is slurred, and barely there. Should not be the focus of the word, but nonetheless should not be silent. I imagine there are probably other small things like this throughout the video. Using this, you will still be understood if you speak to someone in person, but maybe not on the phone.

    • @jamesgage1201
      @jamesgage1201 7 років тому

      "ease" is said too quickly. 's' in 'ease' should be "voiced" in a way that Americans think of the sound that 'Z' makes.

    Wow, 3,000 Words....When i saw this, and I have no idea how I came upon this Video, I thought It must be due to one of three reasons: 1.) Someone high as a kite with too much time on their hand or 2.) To help people undergoing some kind of speech therapy/repair or 3.) To help those learning english. No.#1 probably doesnt apply cause some one like that that wouldnt have the dedication and stick-to-itness to keep this up for over an hour. Sooo, you must be someone who likes helping others and after reading some of the comments below (excluding a rude one or two from those who just dont have a clue and must enjoy being negative), It appears as if you have succeeded. The world needs more people with that kind of dedication and love in their heart for others.

    Sorry but not reliable at all ... where the stress is supposed to be and some others.... Learn the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) and listen to correct stress and accent... Please for learners, be critical, be selective, don't just mimic ... Check the poems ... The Chaos and Desiderata ...

    • @feqwix
      @feqwix  8 років тому

      +Joy Alvarez - This is just another resource for learners. It may be helpful for some and not for others.
      I'm preparing another video that fully covers american IPA pronunciation, for a more fine-grained practice.
      Thanks for your comments and interesting suggestions!

    • @feqwix
      @feqwix  8 років тому

      Joy Alvarez -- Language is a matter of communication. Rather than focusing on learning the "perfect" or "pure" english, I think that is far more important to learn how to express what we want and how to understand others.
      There are countless variations on pronunciations even across regions on the same country. So, what's the "pure" version? What's the "perfect" pronunciation? Is there one and only one valid pronunciation for a given word? For some maybe, but certainly not for every!
      Just an example: "Received Pronunciation" is considered for some as the "standard english accent" of the UK, but only 3% of the population of that country speak with that accent!

    • @joya.alvarez8391
      @joya.alvarez8391 8 років тому +1

      Sorry, fegwix, but if I want/desire to learn a language, I want to start it right and correct from the beginning. It's rather difficult to unlearn a learnt wrong pronunciation, grammar, use of words and more. I desire to do things right from the beginning . I did these while learning both the English and the German language. And teaching English as a second language, basics/foundations must already be right and correct. For sure, you have a very different idea or conviction which came through in your recorded pronunciation of some English words. And you know pretty well that there is a world of difference between cheat - chit, knows - nose, ice - eyes, and more...

    • @feqwix
      @feqwix  8 років тому

      +Joy Alvarez -- Please don't say sorry! I think this is a valid discussion.
      If you have time, I would appreciate a lot if you could point out at least one mispronounced word. I will add the errata to the video.
      Many thanks for your comments, seriously!

    • @joya.alvarez8391
      @joya.alvarez8391 8 років тому +1

      I always say "sorry" which could develop into a bad habit because I don't want the other person to be offended by my observation, comment and all, though I do mean literally all what I've said, in fact, every word in it... look into the IPA ( International Phonetic Alphabet) and check your works with them and with all the dictionaries ... be meticulous ...

Mình đã thử tự học cũng như tham gia vài lớp học nhưng không thấy tiến bộ , hiện giờ mình đang theo học bên Talk Class (các c search google là ra) mình thấy siêu ổn vì đc học với giáo viên người bản ngữ, lớp ít người nên thực hành nhiều mà quan trọng là học phí quá rẻ :v tuy chưa học xong nhưng mình dã thấy tự tin hơn rất nhiều rồi nên chia sẻ cho mọi người cùng biết ^^

You can also use the left/right arrows to go back/forward a few seconds in the video, this way you can repeat the words when you want. Hope that helps!
