    Very interesting. I spent a few years shoveling snow before I moved to warmer climates where this is not an issue. Part of me is impressed, part of me is concerned. Snowblowers are sort of dangerous. Pets, pet chains, leases, snowplows shovels, bown debris, and more could cause an issue for the snowblower. Shoveling snow can be dangerous too; slips falls, broken bones, hurt backs so these could be real benefits. The little vaccums cleans roombas have been very popular, in a few years maybe a bunch of people will have these. These could be real beneficial for larger snow removal companies that need parking lots cleared. If something like his were outfitted with gas power, or multiple changable battery packs, -so it can keep on working- it could clear a large locations like a shopping center or school continuously saving a lot of money on manual plowing. Putting in Electric heat and heating the driveway is expensive on the power bill, but cheap compared to the cost of hiring it done each time.

    Ya call that a snowstorm? Here in Newfoundland we call that Monday, we just had a snowstorm and it dropped 36 inches of snow, that little thing wouldn't stand a chance!

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  3 місяці тому +2

      Per a generic google search Newfoundland averages 9.8ft of snowfall/yr. In Silverthorne, CO at 9000ft elevation where this was filmed it averages 13.1ft/yr. Not that different! 😏

    How about the ability to tune the area to be cleared? Adjusting the right side of the drive (looking at the house) and having it get tight to the garage door.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  3 місяці тому

      yes, that is fully programable when you set up the boundaries. We intentionally did not get close to the garage doors on this video because there was a 6in thick ice mound from snow melt from the little decorative roof above the garage.

    How does this deal with freezing or subfreezing temps for charging? What kind of battery pack is in it?

      It's designed to work in the cold and special treatment is done to keep the battery happy when its subzero. More info on the battery can be found on their website.

    What are the practical limits.?? Time on task.? Time to recharge,? Snow depth.? Will it track it's position close enough to always have sufficient power to get "home" to recharge.? I would NOT want to have to push that thing back to its recharge station.!!!

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  3 місяці тому

      It can run for well over an hour on a charge and can eat a foot of dry snow in one go but its best to tackle the snow every 3 or so inches for the best performance (which is actually easy to do when its autonomous!). It automatically returns to the charger before it runs out of battery. And if it was in the middle of a job, it will go back out and finish once the battery gets back charged.

    The problem with snow blowers is (usually) after the snow is blown there remains a little layer of ice that is more slippery to walk on than the snow was.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  3 місяці тому

      That depends on the blower and if you have shoes on it or let the blade contact the ground. Either way a little sun easily melts any thin layer.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  3 місяці тому +1

      @@EvrttGrn it has multiple sensors to detect objects and even AI for the cameras to detect things like people and pets. It will go around (stationary object) or wait (person/pet walking).

    Sounds like Colorado powder is no problem. Have you tried it in the Sierras? Our last storm here on the West Shore of Tahoe brought us 7' of heavy snow in 3 days. It would be a good test.
