Thanks Max. Was nice meeting you in NYC. I"m thinking about making Vetiver in general my signature scent. For what's readily available to me, I see basically three choices. Grey Vetiver, Geurlain Vetiver, and Terre D'Hermes. I went for Terre D'Hermes first, but will probably pick up the others, too

Hey Max! I was wondering what your thoughts would be on a good alternative to Roja Dove’s Vetiver? It seems we share the same taste in many fragrances and the fact that one of your most valued and adored fragrance is one of mine and that is D&G Original. I have been wearing that one for over 20 years myself. It still blows my mind away every time I put it on and not to mention all of the memories it evokes. Thanks and keep up the great content!

Encre Noir Sport and A L'Extreme are my two favorite. Guerlain's Vetiver took a while for me to appreciate but now I love it. A cheapie I like is David Beckam Instinct. I vote for Neroli for next note.

@@michaelmcdonald9847 L'Extreme is the bomb. My backup bottle just arrived today actually. If you mix it with Demeter Pineapple in a 4/1 ratio it gives it a nice hint of sweetness and is perfect for all season round! Try it out and thank me later.
Oddly enough Mugler Cologne does not have actual Vetiver in it, but it sure smells like it does. I just love it

hi max. the zegna line is so underrated so far. love the Armani, not so sure anymore in the Carven house. that was my no. 1 for many years. carner Barcelona Palo santo has a great vetiver note.
Palo santo is a delicious scent but I find it very gourmand!
A note that tends to always give a fragrance great depth and interest is Myrrh, but I rarely see it discussed.
Vetiver can take on so many personalities. I tend to go for ones that go to cool or warm extremes rather than a pure dry grass note. I'd happily wear Sycamore EDT but can't find a bottle. In its absence I go with the Encre Noirs. I adore Creeds OV but have performance issues and need to pack a decant and lay it on pretty thick.

I am a vetiver nut. Own most in this list but dreaming of someday owning Dior Vetiver. Great vetiver frags not mentioned are Encre Noir A L'Extreme,Chanel Sycomore,Aedes de Venustas Grandille de Afrique,Atelier Vetiver Fatal,Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum,Terre d'Hermes,Sel de Vetiver by The Different Company,Carven Vetiver (with the wooden cap),Prada Infusion de Vetiver,Hermes Hermessence Vetiver Tonka .So many still to mention and I can go on and on but yes,vetiver is such a gorgeous manly note! Will definitely check Armani Vetyver Babylone.

Max Forti The vintage (wooden cap) is very clean,soapy,lemony & ambery and light but surprisingly lasts long. One of my fav from my vetiver frags and best thing about it is it will not cost a fortune. Grab one while you can still find one.
Have you tried Acqua di Parma Note di Colonia II? that is an exceptional vetiver fragrance!
I've got 7 of the 10 on your list so all I can say is, "I agree." Oh, I don't have a top vetiver list this year but here are some of the ones I have in Scent Armory and love for various reasons:

* Pal Vileri Viaggio D'Africa (similar to Vetiver Tonka but slightly darker)
* Prada Infusion De Vetiver (some folks like this one but I find it to be a Meh!)
* Tom Ford Grey Vetiver (a top office scent)
* Guerlain Vetiver (a standard)
* Hermes Bel Ami Vetiver (love, love, love this one...but it does have a classy mature vibe to it)

I bought terre d'hermés a while ago. Fantastic citrus/orange smell. I stumbled across belami vetiver today- immediately purchased it. I'm surprised people don't know about it by now.

Max Forti I was actually looking for a JPG that my mother had recommended ( she had bought me the terre d'hermés originally so I know she has a nose for great fragrances). I had a smell of the JPG and decided that it smelled too much like my OUD save the king by Atkinsons- only not as good. We tried the prada intense that has recently been released and I wasn't too thrilled with that one either. It was only by chance I checked out the Hermes again and found the vetiver.
Also- the rhubarbe escarlete is fantastic too. Highly recommend.

Have you came across Byerley by Parfums de Marly yet? A very unique take on vetiver with a creamy quality. Very nice! Also make sure to check out Hornero by Fueguia. The quality of this vetiver is extremely good, great performance as well!
You've got to try Amouroud Lunar Vetiver. Hands down the best Vetiver fragrance I've ever smelled.
Parfums de Nicolai Vetyver is also a criminally underrated fragrance. A fruitier vetiver with an intriguing dirty note.
My favorite and the only one I've tried on your list is Original Vetiver by Creed. Looking forward to trying out Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford and possibly Vetiver by Guerlain.

I find Rasasi's Woody very good. If anyone can't afford the finer, more expensive vetiver fragrances then this one is definitely worth looking at.
Just bought myself Guerlain Vetiver, and I think you missed it. Smells sooooooo good. Subtle elegant fragrance. Can't stop smelling my arm.
YungGBone124127134 Honestly, I'm really disappointed with the projection. If you don't like grey vetiver then you won't like Guerlain vetiver. TF grey vetiver has more projection and it has a much cleaner vetiver. If you want the best vetiver fragrance get Terre D'Hermès Bel Ami Vetiver.
yea, agreee .. having BelAmi Vetiver = the only one vetiver scent that i like and that is office friendly, not smelling outdated (like guerlain vetiver, grey vetiver = i had to sell them all) ... BelAmi Vetiver is a suede .... simply suede, not offputting, just round notes, classy, mature and elegant

I also enjoy vetiver. I bought the Etro vetiver based on a youtube reviewer and I didn't care for it. Vetiver fragances I own, similar to Guerlain are, L'artisan Parrfumeur Vetiver Sacree and Lubin Vetiver,. And of course you forgot to mention, or you do not like them, the darker side of Vetiver: all 3 Lalique Encre Noir, and a very good dark one also is Lubin Bluff. I own all of them and they are great. Chopard Noble Vetiver (a beast of a vetiver) and Il Profumo Vetiver de Java are also in my small collection as well but I don't reach for them as often.
I'm not too sure about Grey Vetiver getting discontinued. Perhaps they're only nixing the EDT and not the EDP? Either way... if they hypothetically were to discontinue both, I recommend everyone taking a whiff of Fresh Vetiver by Fine Accoutrements, which is an aftershave. This is the aftershave that lead me into the world of fragrances to begin with, and the reason Grey Vetiver was the first bottle in my collection. I'm glad I have Grey Vetiver, but the Fine Accoutrements knockoff can function almost as effectively as a workplace scent if we ever got the terrible news of TFGV being discontinued.
Encre Noire, Terre De Hermes, Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, Creed Vetiver & Givenchy Vetiver are my top 5

I'm a Vetiver lover as well! Check out Vetiver Moloko by Ex Nihilo. Creamy vetiver musk is how i would describe it. Vetiver Fatal is one of my favorites but its a me too of Bal Dafrique which you mentioned. I just used your coupon to buy Mefisto by Xerjoff! Thanks!

Never mentioned by anyone but... Clean Reserve Smoked Vetiver. I have a lot of different vetiver aftershaves and SV just fits in with everything and rounds it out.

Babylon Vetiver by Armani Prive Line smells exactly like Pure White Banana Republic Icon line. I do believe it is the Armani Vetiver unless Armani has another vetiver scent especially on the dry down smells exactly!

Lalique Encre Noire... To some people it's too raw,sharp. But for me, it is a definition of exquisite art journey through dark,silent, strangely peaceful forest.I haven't seen so much perfume that oozes its message in such a blatant way like EN. It should be in this list in my opinion.
Hey Max, great stuff! Thought I might recommend a review on Castle Forbes Special Reserve Vetiver. I can’t quite figure out why no one ever reviews or talks about this little house in Scotland. They also have a “special reserve” Neroli, which I have and find to be quite good. Their special reserves are only produced at 500 bottles per year. I have not tried their other lines, yet. Maybe check them out or let me know how I can help 👍🏻.

Max I am in Memphis, TN. I got heavily into DE wet shaving this year and starting buying all my supplies from Executive Shaving which is in Scotland. Brian that owns it is awesome and I have made this a new hobby of mine. It was there on their site I learned about Castle Forbes. So I wanted to try the special reserve Neroli and Vetiver, but they could not ship alcohol to the states. So I found them on like 1 site in the US. I may have gotten the Neroli from Amazon. Anyway, I bought some shaving creams and such from Castle Forbes and they are incredible. Fragrance has me hooked. Your videos, along with a couple of others have pushed me into fragrance now (thanks for that lol). I bought Layton, TF Grey Vetiver, Creed Virgin Island Water, and Royal Oud to start. Paired with the Neroli and Vetiver from Castle Forbes, helps kick it off well I suppose. Thinking of Herod from PDM as well possibly.
If you need me to try and send you a sample of the Neroli and Vetiver I’m sure I can either send you the bottles or a sample I suppose. I just want an experts opinion as to how they stack up. I think I mentioned before that they only produce 500 bottles in each series/year. And they harvest for both from their own plantation at Castle Forbes.

I would say Encre Niore is by far the best Vetiver smelling perfume out there, too bad it's so polarising and I can't wear it everywhere or around everyone.
