Thank you a very interesting short essay on the story of the music in France. Francoeur enjoyed a very long life: it's peculiar a work written in 1773 ( Mannheim orchestra was in full service, Mozart were composing his first mature masterworks, Haydn was 40 years old) that sounds barocque as it had been compose 30 or 40 years before.
Instantly recognizable French school. The French had the most structured music and rarely varied afield from historical foundations. Certainly this piece delves into the past.
I want to Wish You the Very Best for 2023 from a grateful viewer in Washington, DC, Pau NG! Since I discovered your channel in 2022 I haven't gone a day with out enjoying content you post here. And I really appreciate the accompanying art work. Cheers!
Excellent music. But I don't envy the French their music, rather the biographical information about their early music composers. The occupiers have consistently razed our Polish libraries to the ground (or looted the works of art), so only some of the manuscripts kept in the monasteries have survived.
1673 is a bit early; it doesn't sound Lullyesque enough for that. But 1737 I'd have totally believed. I guess there still was a market for fully Baroque-style music even in 1773 in France.
FRANCHEMENT MERCI POUR CETTE MUSIQUE QUE J'AIME PARCE QUE CELA ME FAIT DU BIEN

Nice. He and Jean Rebel were directors of the Paris Opera in the 1700's and friends. Love these Galant era pieces.
It is a crime that his operas are not performed.

1773 or 1673?;-)))
1773,
Francoeur wasn't born till 1698.
@@mariavanhoof7961 I am afraid you didn't grasp my question was sarcastic.
