I found this channel cause I just brought 3 of these Camaros from a auction for 2500 each and Im rebuilding everything on them with mods but keep to original because they gain alot of vaule over the last 6 yrs and by 2060 these cars will be worth a fortune when my grandkids have them and I'm only 21 these old videos helped me learn step by step from u hope we can work together in the future 💯🎯❤️
Great videos, I have the same year Z28 and have been slowly replacing pieces too. Can't believe how simple the throttle body bypass was, nice job. It looks like you are missing the plastic sleeve that holds the K&N filter housing flush with the body, it would stop it from moving around. Also, right behind the throttle position sensor is a rubber elbow that always get cracked, they don't sell a replacement but you can actually just use an old spark plug wire boot. Pull out the insides and swap it, direct fit!
I remember doing this 30 years ago. I bought mine from LG Motorsports and paid $55 for it (it was the same 30 years ago....."that isn't going to do anything"). I also did all the research on the CAI kits: SLP, Moroso, Arizona Speed & Marine, RK Sport, K&N, etc. and it was K&N. Back when companies engineering cold air kits were actually drawing cold air instead of the garbage made today. GM High-Tech Performance magazine got 19.3RWHP from the K&N kit......
Got almost same set up tho mines a 97 30th Z28 and a 01 Z06 started mods on Z28 radiator leak led to 3 row radiator thought i might as well do waterpump got it down this far do opti that led to new timing chain glad I did chain was stretched quite a bit 112k on motor got longtube and off road x pipe to put on waitng for cats and remote cutouts to arrive next month be 58mm throttle body and maybe hi-performance intake just like a body you got to let it breath my friend more air in more air out more horsepower gonna be new subscriber
Nice videos you make, calmly and with no fuss. I have a 1997 Z28, love that car, do you still have yours? I have to ask you this, too: Why a Ford truck??
you just made me love my cam z28 bro i have the same car but mine has t top and that change on the engine i have to do it to mine thanks for the videos bro
I got a 95 LT 6-speed my mechanic did a rebuild, head gaskets, heads, it was dogged a bit etc, my 2nd gear teeth/ syncro are bad- it has no 2nd, he knows a place that has rebuilt transmission 6-speed. In stead of just replacing gear , are they expensive overall? Just wondering
In stock form, the throttle body and plenum get hot from the hot coolant, which heats up the incoming air. With the bypass, cooler air can flow into the throttle body and through the plenum (cooler air = more power).
@@ReynoldsRides Why did GM want to warm it up in the 1st place? I live in northern Mn so it gets real cold up here so wondering if that will cause a running problem?
The coolant runs through throttle body to keep it warm when driving in cold climates. It can actually start to ice up as cold, humid air flows though. If not living in the north, you can bypass this to keep your throttle body as cool as possible. Colder, dense air allows for better combustion and more horsepower.
Have 93 with same mods check out this site dyno results for each mod ws6.com/mycar.htm Also google descreen maf sensor easy and improves flow. Another if exhaust stock try and electronic cutout. Borla makes off road 2 3/4" Y pipe if not running headers Drill out the convertors run a test pipe www.siliconeintakes.com/dsm-intercooler-piping/catalytic-converter-p-320.html or run a single chamber flowmaster knockoff mufflers in place of the convertors.
Thanks for watching guys and be sure to check out Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/FgVoalF0_tY/v-deo.html.

Always been a huge fan of the Z28 Camaros. They're absolutely amazing and I am hoping to buy myself one in the future
I'm searching for Camaro right now I'm from bama and it's been hard to find one. But you got my subscription now for when I do. Awesome work
I just bought a 96 camaro and I’m so glad I stumbled across this channel man. Got my sub
👊🙏 Congrats on the purchase!

Can I just say I love your vet
Thanks man. More content coming soon on the C4.
Nice ride! You got a great deal on her. Some lucky finds in the junkyard will help her get back to form.
I've got to say...I've watched most all of your videos so far. I love the content! Subscribed!
Thanks!
@@ReynoldsRides you may enjoy my content! Check it out.
Thanks for ur videos man, really helped me with my air foil splitter and plate above the throttle body 👏

The cover plate also wont immediately crack like the plastic one when installed hand tight

I test drove many trucks and the F-150 was the best.
I use Teflon spray all over behind the water pump and if it ever lied I would not hurt the opti
you just made me love my cam z28 bro i have the same car but mine has t top and that change on the engine i have to do it to mine thanks for the videos bro
👍👊
love the cars and the informative videos, earned a sub from me
Nice project👍 I would have cleaned the engine compartment first, looks a bit dusty. But that’s just me. Would love to have one of these.
Yeah the engine bay is pretty dirty. I will be cleaning it very soon.
Nice work bro
🙏👊
The LT1 badging under the hood adds at least 5HP. I read it on the Internet so it must be true. 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Exactly!
Can you explain the coolant line bypass? Why do it
That throttle body cover plate has to be good for a couple pound feet.
😂
I had a giant coolant leak on my C4. Never damaged the opti
👍🙏👊
My 1995 Z28 was submerged in a lake after being stolen. Opti no issues 60k miles and 20 years later.
Where did you get the coolant caps at?

What is the benefit of the bypass of the coolant hose from the throttle body?
In stock form, the throttle body and plenum get hot from the hot coolant, which heats up the incoming air. With the bypass, cooler air can flow into the throttle body and through the plenum (cooler air = more power).
Hi there sir. Would there be a need to at a later time after the bypass, to do anything else and or to avoid any future issues?
@@ReynoldsRides Why did GM want to warm it up in the 1st place? I live in northern Mn so it gets real cold up here so wondering if that will cause a running problem?
Which one is faster, the l98 corvette or the LT1 camaro?
I think it would be really close. Maybe we’ll have to find out 😉.
That mod will only worked with a tuned pcm, not your stock LT1 pcm
Which one lol he listed a lot and if ur talking about the air foil then no
You did not explain the throttle buy past enough!!!!
