We bought a big estate in Denmark from 14th-Century former owned by the danish king Christian VI. We discovered a 1x2m safety box which is from the 17th-Century, the safety box has not been opened for many hundred years, and the key is gone. We cannot open it... and we cannot find a name of the manufactury company of the safety box. It's dark green and has like a square old metal piece with something that looks like a flower, and if we turn it 45degrees with our hand, another square old metal piece is rotating itself longer down on the safety box, where we can enter two keys into, it looks like it has to be opened with two keys on the same time or maybe another form of key i never have seen. :)
Pure Engineering Marvel 👍
I love this
What would something like this cost? Both at the time and with inflation adjustment and to buy it as an antique nowadays?
The asking price for the 19th-Century Italian Safe was $88,500. Best, Rachel
