Thanks so much. Exactly the info I needed to set up a headless Raspberry Pi 5. All the steps worked perfectly, and I am currently running running updates through my VNC viewer's interface to the machine.

Great video and really useful. I want to add an LTE 4G/5G modem HAT expansion card. Have you already tested such setup, and took the control of your RaspberryPi using WAN communication (internet)? Thank you for your help. Very good channel. 🙏🏼

i have a doubt my raspberry pi is not giving any ip address and the green light also stops blinking after 2 min
is it a software issue or hardware issue?

    • @TECHEONICS
      @TECHEONICS  10 місяців тому

It could be either a software or hardware issue.
      1. Check power supply.
      2. Ensure microSD card is inserted properly with a valid OS image.
      3. Verify all connections.
      4. Test with different power supply and microSD card.
      5. Monitor boot process via HDMI.

I inserted the sd card to the raspberry pi, nothing shows in the advanced ip scanner, the raspberry pi has been flashing inconsistently (irregular number of flashes), for over 2 hours. When I try to reset the sd card with the imager, the passwords (login and wifi) changed to unreadable hashes. Is this a common issue, and how can I fix it? Thanks

    • @TECHEONICS
      @TECHEONICS  5 місяців тому

The issues you're experiencing with your Raspberry Pi are likely due to a combination of factors. Here's a breakdown and potential solutions:
      1. Inconsistent Flashing:
      * Corrupt SD Card: The SD card might be corrupted, leading to inconsistent flashing. Try formatting the SD card and flashing the image again.
      * SD Card Quality: Ensure you're using a high-quality SD card specifically designed for embedded systems. Poor-quality cards can be unreliable.
      * Power Issues: Inadequate power supply can cause flashing inconsistencies. Make sure your power adapter is providing sufficient power.
      2. Unreadable Passwords After Reset:
      * Imager Configuration: Check the imager settings to ensure you're using the correct password format. Some imagers might require specific password encoding.
      * Imager Version: Outdated imager versions might have compatibility issues. Try using the latest version.
      3. Advanced IP Scanner Not Showing the Pi:
      * Network Configuration: Verify that the Raspberry Pi is correctly configured to connect to your network. Check the IP address and subnet mask in the Raspberry Pi's configuration.
      * Firewall Settings: Ensure that your router's firewall isn't blocking the Raspberry Pi's network traffic.
      Troubleshooting Steps:
      * Format the SD Card: Use a reliable SD card formatting tool to format the card.
      * Flash the Image Again: Use a fresh Raspberry Pi OS image and flash it to the formatted SD card.
      * Check Power Supply: Ensure you're using a suitable power adapter for the Raspberry Pi.
      * Verify Network Configuration: Double-check the network settings on the Raspberry Pi and your router.
      * Disable Firewall Temporarily: If you're using a firewall, temporarily disable it to see if it's blocking the Raspberry Pi.
      * Try a Different SD Card: If the issue persists, try using a different SD card.
      * Update Imager: If you're using an older version of the imager, update to the latest version..

@@TECHEONICS Hi, thanks for the reply.
I have formatted the SD card in fat32 format. I am using a 128GB one, which I bought just a few days ago. For the imager, when I input the passwords, it seems fine, but when I reopen the settings, the password textbox becomes encoded with hash. I tried with different versions of the imager from 1.8.5 to 1.7, but the problem still exists. I suspect that it can't connect to the wifi because of this changed password problem. I try to connect the raspberry pi to a monitor through HDMI with a new strong cable, and it does show some lines of processing code on the screen, but every time it is about to reach the line for login, the HDMI disconnects, and I have to replug the power source to allow it to boot again, making it an endless loop lol.

      1. VNC Server Configuration:
      * Keyboard Layout: Ensure that the keyboard layout in your VNC server settings matches your physical keyboard. Incorrect layout settings can prevent proper key recognition.
      * Keyboard Mapping: Double-check if there are any custom keyboard mappings or shortcuts that might be interfering with typing. If you've recently modified these settings, try reverting them to default.
      2. Raspberry Pi Configuration:
      * Keyboard Layout: Verify that the keyboard layout is correctly set in the Raspberry Pi's configuration. You can access this through the "raspi-config" utility.
      * USB Hub Compatibility: If you're using a USB hub, ensure it's compatible with the Raspberry Pi and that it's providing enough power to the keyboard. Some USB hubs might have power limitations.
      3. Keyboard Issues:
*Physical Damage: Check for any physical damage to the keyboard, such as broken keys or loose connections.
      * Driver Issues: If you've installed any custom drivers for the keyboard, ensure they're compatible and functioning correctly.
      Update Raspberry Pi Software:
*Ensure that your Raspberry Pi's software is up to date. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
      Check for VNC Server Updates:
If you're using a third-party VNC server, check for updates and install them if available.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, please provide more details about your setup, including the VNC server you're using, any custom configurations, and any error messages you might be encountering.

SD card is not the problem try plug in a display with the Raspberry Pi and see if it's put up or not if you don't have the display available right now just burn the OS on 16 or 32GB SD card do set up the Wi-Fi from the pi imager settings and do mention country code as well in the Wi-Fi setting
