279570 - Replacing Your Dryer's Door Latch

Mike from Point & Click Appliance repair will walk you through a step-by-step process showing you how to replace your dryer models door latch & strike.
WARNING: Before starting any repair on your appliance, always make sure that it is completely disconnected from its power source by unplugging it.
Tools needed:
Philip's head screwdriver
Needle nose pliers
Conventional Pliers
Step-by-step how-to instructions for replacing your dryer models door latch & strike:
1. Open dryer door
2. Latch is going to be located on top of the inside of the frame of the door and our strike is going to be located on the back of the inside of the door
3. Take a pair of needle nose clamp onto it, push it from one side and life it our of the other
4. Compare it to the other three inside of the kit to see which one we're going to be putting in our dryer
5. Set new latch and set it into position. Using a pair of needle nose pliers push on one side of the latch until it's in position
6. Use hands if necessary to ensure latch is secure in place
7. Remove the screws that are holding the inside of the door to the outside panel of the door
8. Take needle nose pliers and push out the top of the door strike first and then again on the bottom
9. Take your pliers and squeeze the metal clip again and push the strike all the way through
10. Look at the number that's located on the metal clip of the strike and compare it to the numbers on the other three strikes
11. Take new strike and we're just going to place it with your hands
12. Replace the screws that we took our previously
13. Open & close the door and make sure that it shuts
14. Repeat step 13 (3x)
15. If door is securely opening & closing, repair is complete!
