Well this show led me to know the lord Jesus Christ and I read the New Testament .. it pushed me to want to read. I’m now in the Old Testament in Deuteronomy. This made me excited to read the Bible. It may be just a show, but this will bring unbelievers to Christ. It’s a start. I believe

@@anir8023 Though many translations, there is only one Bible.
@@anir8023 It doesn't matter so much. The truths of the Bible are very deep, and the translators wouldn't have known about them all (nobody can search the depths of God). So it's impossible for them to mar something that they don't even understand fully. Sure, some modern translations may take liberties with certain verses. In that case, use a few different translations, if you are in doubt. But in the end, the Holy Spirit is the final translator, and He will guide every honest soul.
Be aware also that truths are presented in many different ways: sometimes by direct statement, other times by living example, other times in parables, visions, or prophecies. So if one verse is a little off in its translation, it will be balanced by the other presentations of the same truth. When you see the same truth running from Genesis to Revelation throughout the Bible, the light will be clear.
The chosen was the first thing that brought me to Christ. I stumbled across the chosen app, I watched it, and I had never felt such a connection, a recognition to Jesus. Wow, Jesus is amazing. I could relate! and at times I was in tears with how beautifully loving the chosen had portrayed Jesus. After watching the chosen it lead me to pick up my Bible, talk to other believers and start my journey in faith x so to me, chosen is amazing!!! A supporter from the UK 🙏✝️

Its good this serie The Chosen and other biblical films bring a lot people to Christ I watched Jesus Christ superstar and cried so much and now i know why. He is my saviour My Lord. My King✝️💖🕎🙏🔥🔥
I love the Chosen as a Christian "show" and as such is my favorite. That said "I can't start my day without first reading at least two chapters of the bible. I can't imagine functioning without reading the bible. Nothing can replace the bible.

Nothing replaces the bible that is the one true living word of God. I just came across The Chosen.. I opened my bible after each episode and I studied the word of God and learned new things that I did not know before. I know it ignited something inside of me and made me excited to learn more about God and his word. Love the series.

It's amazing people say this. Reading God's word weekly is so common to many Christians its surprising to hear people only do it after a TV show. You fall in love with Jesus you read His love letters everyday. Nothing else needed to inspire.
@@lesmariestewart1162Different things inspire different people. The Bible is a big book. Maybe the gospel wasn't studied as in depth as it was before and this inspired them to dig deeper? I'm over here praising God for this comment 🙌 God can also use ANY way he wants to reach us. I often pray "Lord speak to me in a way you know I'm listening" and then BOOM he shows up in one of those places.

In the beginning of the show, there’s a disclaimer that even says you should read the scriptures from yourself this is a beautiful show
I enjoy the back stories. Especially when Nathanael meets Jesus for the first time and is told "While you were under the fig tree, I saw you". What an amazing moment.

You mention one line in scripture while applying your legalistic, literal lens/without inserting the context, but let me remind you of John 3:16 KJV where it is written, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” And if I’m in error, then you’re also saying Daniel is since he concludes many of his excellent videos (teachings) by lovingly saying to his audience, “Jesus loves you, and I love you, too”. So I guess this means Daniel and so many true believers who preach His word must be in grave error. Please save your harsh accusations for the people who rightfully deserve them such as the likes of false preachers including Kenneth Copeland and Joel Osteen. First, I only serve God and don’t have to engage in your foolish demands since they’re without merit. I prayed over this and asked the Holy Spirit to guide me should I even consider this response to you which will be my last. Here goes:
God loves all of his creations as demonstrated by his mercy over all of his work as seen in Psalm 145:9, but we know it’s the SIN he hates thus I referenced John 3:16 paving the way salvation through Jesus. Again, I don’t know if you’re simply missing the point, but it is written in Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
God commands all of us to abandon all sin, to repent, and believe in His son as he’s the only way should we desire salvation. It’s God’s love for all his creation through his mercy and grace that provides a path for salvation:
Ephesians 2:4-5 KJV, “4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)” Everyone can be saved only if they abide in Him and do what’s commanded according to His word. If that isn’t merciful, universal love by God then I don’t know what is.
Lastly, your response shows your judgmental spirit and hateful heart. I do know that we’re commanded to expose error or in instances where there’s a grave misappropriation of His word, but your accusation is without merit.
I give thanks to God for this opportunity in understanding the many ways in which the enemy attacks God’s children. It’s best for you to stop cherry-picking verses that suit your narrative and pick a fight with someone who’s in grave error. God Bless you. 🙏🏼✝️

Yes it will. The chosen is NOT Biblical. The ACTOR who plays Jesus prays to the DEAD. People are saying they like THAT jesus. Not the Jesus of the Bible. But the jesus Dallas made up. It’s heresy.
The best Chistain movie i have ever watched is " The Passion of Christ " this movies took alot of my tears. You should watch behind the scense as well. Because people witness miracles.
You should watch "Jesus of Nazareth". Two part film series that's SUPER close to Scripture.
The passion of Christ is not really about Jesus but rather about Mary.
That's more towards a Catholicism view point. It was a great movie don't get me wrong and it changed the leading actors life for the better. But if you have prime check out the Gospels. The actors are speaking Aramaic but it's narrated straight from scripture.

Have you read the Gospels over and over? That's how we show Christ we love Him.
At the beginning of the series, Dallas Jenkins mentions that The Chosen is only meant to encourage people to actually read the Gospels. It takes artistic liberties, which makes it more interesting

@StevenBackus, please stop using figurative language. It’s obvious you don’t approve of The Chosen. Talking about nonsense when Dallas has made a brilliant effort to bring the Bible in a new life.

The Chosen serves as an outreach that meets people where they are. That's courageous. Sure, I recognize the embellishments because I am biblically literate; and I recognize that many are not. My hope and prayer is that those whom the Lord is calling will move from the entertainment value to the value of opening the Bible for themselves. I've seen evidence that the Lord is working his will through the series, and I am still grateful for The Chosen as a tool for challenging people to become more biblically literate.
The bible says do not add or take away anything from the scripture. If its biblical we should not add or take anything way . GOD BLESS

I agree with you that Jesus did not need to really practice his talk, however Jesus did not know when He would come again Matthew 24:36. So He didn't know everything as a man. So I see why Dallas may think differently. Matthew 24:36 in light with Philippians 2:5-7 shows that Jesus gave up some of His divine qualities in order to be like us. The Father gave Him divine wisdom when He needed it: John 6:38. So while Jesus did not know everything in His feeble humanity, He always had what He needed for the Father's will by being faithful and submissive entirely to the Father in His humanity. I type so much as it helps me understand it better as well, hope it generated thought.

Not to mention that he is filled with Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit literally knows everything, according to scripture. Am I mistaken?

Thanks Daniel. Great explanation. People are not thinking clearly about this project. At the end of the day as long as they don't change scripture then there is no issue. This show has brought the bible alive to me, and closer to God. I am one of the many that's contributing to the crowd funding. This is an amazing show that I feel has God's hand over it.
Unbelievers cannot discern truth from lies though. Many will watch the Chosen assuming it is scripturally accurate.
They're not changing Scripture but putting words in the mouth of our Lord and presenting him as a character in a TV show. It honestly breaks my heart, but God works all things toward good.

Jesus isn’t entertainment. Do you think He is pleased by people making millions off of Him? By ecumenism? By a portrayal of Him when he explicitly tells us. It to do that in the word? Adding to scripture is just as dangerous to changing the words. This show is adding to it and giving a false image of the God of the. Biden creators minds. And yes. It is adding to scripture ad they are basically creating their own Bible translation.
Jesus is God in the flesh. The Messiah, rejected by the chosen people of God, who was cut off and given over to the world. He is the mercy of God, whose holy and precious blood was shed as the once and for all sin offering. This show cheapens who He is and what He has done for us.
@@swansonseven2851 hi. You must remember Jesus came to live amongst us. That included living every day normal life, in particular a Jewish daily life. You can't turn your face from that. Jesus felt pain like us, he laughed like us, remember "he wept" when he found out Lazarus had died even though He knew it was going to happen. Jesus had feelings like us. Scripture does not tell us every single conversation Jesus had with Mary and Joseph. He would've had friends in the village he grew up in. That's all that the show is doing, filling in how life may have been around the actual Scripture writings. How is this show any different to the other movies/ shows about Jesus and the other prophets? It's led me to read the bible more. There was a scene in the chosen where Jesus calls James and John the sons of thunder. I thought that was just a joke until I came across it in Scripture.
Be open minded about the show and when you share it just explain to people that they must go back and read the bible, the show just helps you to visualise stories in Scripture. God bless
3 months ago, I was not a believer and I decided to ask God to prove to me that he existed, I stayed 5 minutes waiting for something to happen, but nothing. But all of a sudden I noticed that my finger tapped on my shoulder unconsciously at a constant rate, which made me think of a morse code so I went on the internet to see what that meant and by surprise the message said "Hii", I was very surprised at this and fell asleep with a lot of questions. The days that followed I received a lot of announcements on the show The chosen and I ended up listening to it, because of that I started reading the Bible and now I believe in Jesus Christ and I love him with all my heart❤🙏
The Chosen has helped me refocus my eyes on Jesus! They’ve brought Jesus and his followers to life!! And it’s motivated me to read the Bible more. I started memorizing the sermon on the mount myself. If Jonathan Roumie can, so can I!

Brother Daniel you are a true blessing to me telling me the truth about the Chosen I have been wanting to watch it now I want to more than ever. When I watch shows about Jesus it just blesses me to see Jesus teach and how life was then. Thanks for sharing Jesus loves you and your Ministry and so do I kind sir.
Honestly, The Chosen made me feel so much more comfortable towards Jesus. The bible can feel so intense at times but the way Jesus was portrayed is exactly how he feels in my heart. Kind, loving and gentle. To see Him personified in such a way was beautiful. It made reading my bible more peaceful. It truly showed me how Jesus loves us as our brothers and sisters and sometimes as children when we need to be. The way He embraced Mary Magdalene when she went back to her old ways with no judgement at all.. I know it may not be biblically accurate, but good gosh that made me relate SO MUCH. The trauma that she went through, the feeling of unworthiness, the giving up... And to see Jesus take her back and hold her.. I FELT THAT! In that moment, that was me. So many scenes made me flash back to my own life and see it from a new light.. and see THE LIGHT with me during those times.. and i truly felt that. ♥️♥️♥️

So, what will happen when you read the BIBLE itself, and see that JESUS is also JUDGE OF THE WHOLE WORLD , who will come and separate the "sheep" from the "goats"? As it says in John 5:24: whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
We should be comfortable with Jesus. As for the passage you referred to, my brother or sister in Christ, that is not for us. It could be if we don't get to know Jesus. If we don't have a relationship with Him, we will not know Him, and He will not know us. The Film series Jesus of Nazareth was very inspirational to me when I was struggling with life before I became a Christian. How happy I am for people like me today because I know God will reach them through The Chosen.
I don't watch any TV I started watching this show and i haven't seen this video to know how accurate or if he feels I should watch it but as someone who doesn't watch tv cuz if the negativity I love watching this show cuz it's finally about something positive

What ever brings people closer to doing gods will is a positive. Do not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. The movie Noah was an abomination. I think the show did a good job of representing scripture. Not perfect and does take a bit of Liberties for the sake of the story, but nothing egregious like depicting the fallen angels as benevolent loving misunderstood beings.
If the show did crazy things like give Jesus a wife and made the apostles LGBT or some wack crap like that, then it would be an abomination. Everything the show does is relatively tame and done with respect.
In this movie James is emphasized as the cousin of Jesus instead of younger brother of Jesus.
Also my cousin is a part of this show, he is a messianic Jew just as I am. Its a beautiful show of unity in the body of Christ. We all love the same Lord, same messiah. And Daniel, I want to thank you for all of your work, all your videos, God has used you to help me with many of my struggles with sin, faith and understanding of God’s word. I love this show and can't wait to see how far they go with it. Since it is primarily around the life of the disciples and how Jesus has influenced those around him I am deeply hoping they go as far as through the book of Acts! Doesn't seem like much Christ centered media like this goes far past the resurrection and I am looking forward to seeing the book of Acts come to life through this show. Hopefully that is in the plan. Can hardly wait to find out!

Yes, where to draw the line is the question because, right? I personally stopped watching "Chosen" as an avid viewer and more of a researcher on the 5th episode or another with the paralyzed thief who robbed the metchant guy, but the disclaimer is what helped me to keep my eyes peeled.There were some other red flags, but if its a Christian movie, I read the synopsis and pray before I watch it that the Holy Ghost would give us a check if something's off that we can go to scripture for. If it is a straight up doctrinal issue, like speaking against the diety or divinity of the Messiah, we stop watching and trash it.
I Personally would not recommend this show to a new Christian, but would encourage them to FIRST read read the gospels and watch the 4 gospels DVD series rather than "The Chosen". Once they are spiritually mature they could watch it with more spiritual discernment to see this is heretical.
We don't want to be "a devil is behind every rock" kind of person, but if you apply this principle, it's fine:

Thank you Daniel, I am a born again Christian. To me that means. I have asked JESUS CHRIST in my heart and forgive me of all my sins. I try to be like CHRIST. Since 11 yrs old. Since watching The Chosen, I have been reading my Bible again more often; cuz after the show evens I want to see how much was with the Bible. Since that I have been reading my Bible more. The Holy Spirit was been telling me to read my Bible to get Closer to my Father in Heaven. Then my daughter showed me on the Bible app you can listen to the Bible. I’m ADHD. So I only remember some. So I would read over and over again. So with this function I can listen to the holy Bible and really understand what Matthew was telling us and father God was trying to get us to listen to him and what Jesus was doing and every moment and hit and what he was talking about for the first time I understood. And I have gone to church my whole life I have read my Bible all my life I’m 52 years old; but since chosen came out and I found the reading app on my phone Bible I can really really understand what Jesus Christ is telling us and what father God was telling us and amazing things that come to life in my mind like it I can actually see it happening with having the Bible read to me. But I feel that Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior and the Holy Spirit let me come across the chosen for this purpose. Oh and a lady in Walmart one night like at 10 o’clock at night and they were open all night was actually came up to me and told me about the chosen and told me you really need to watch it so I got the app on my phone she put up on my phone and I started watching it. But I know that Jesus Christ where all this happened and father God knew that all this would happen to get me to really understand father God‘s word. So for that I really don’t think that’s a chosen is a bad show movie I think that he was trying to really get out there and do something good in an evil evil world he was trying to get people interested in and the word of God and why Jesus Christ was born and in how exciting I mean why Jesus Christ came down to the earth the good news that we all need to share with our brothers and sisters and far and wide because this world has become evil Satan is on the prowl like a lion and he will devour anything in his way unless you are covered in the blood of Jesus Christ. so I ask in Jesus Christ name far and wide that people will get to know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior amen.

And yes nothing can replace the bible and we should be studying it for ourselves. Sad to say, even some churches or Christian shows and movies and people are not as it seems. It does fill in the blanks and shows what may have happened, but the important thing is the main parts of the scripture, and it makes you want to read for yourself. This series is amazing. I finished it recently and it's the best depiction of Christ fulfilling his mission on Earth. Other film amd TV adaptations only focus on the divinity and sovereignty of Jesus, however, although He was God incarnate, He was also a human, amd that's what makes him relatable to us. He is the mediator between mankind and God the Father.
Dramatizations of biblical events such as are presented in The Chosen provide an opportunity for sharing the gospel with those who otherwise might not be exposed to the Bible. For believers, such dramatizations can promote spiritual growth, reminding us that the Bible is more than just a story-it relates actual events in the lives of real people who had emotions, relationships, and concerns similar to ours. Our hope is that The Chosen finds an even wider audience and that it helps further the understanding of the Bible’s historical and cultural context and that it increases viewers’ love for Jesus and God’s Word.

I really love the show because it shows the human side of Jesus. Something NONE of the movies portraying him, ever did. I love the word of God and it's my lamp in a dark path. This show is the only thing that I felt really tugged at my heart vs the godless shows, today. I feel this show will definitely revive so many people into reading the scriptures and that's a beautiful thing. I have even read reviews from atheists and agnostics who gave this show a thumbs up.

Thank you, yes! Feel the same way. A dear friend tells me the best movie was Jesus of Nazaareth. It was a good movie, but I still can't see Jesus as white with blue eyes - totally ruined it for me. The characters in The Chosen appear as real to the times and area of the world in which they lived. The settings look real too, dirty streets, broken fences, and everything isn't pristinely clean.
Love your approach. Love your topics. So relevant for the youth. I share with those who don't have access to internet. Don't give up. May the Lord continue to bless you and your team..

I really enjoy The chosen. It is not for the immature. We do need to understand that there are things that might have happened and others might have not.
The show really helped me while I was reading the Bible, sometimes it gets really hard to imagine things for me from that time, so if you combine reading with watching some good shows and movies , it can really help you develope a stronger emotional bond towards what you are reading. That is how it was for me at least.
The cultural context offered by The Chosen is of great value because many have been unable to conceive how things were different than their own personal context.
We are all God’s original. We must learn to get along with love, pure love, caring, and prayer! God is in charge! Amen

I too had a problem with the practicing the sermon on the mount with Mathew, but then I thought about it and maybe it could have happened, not because Jesus needed to figure out how to do the sermon but to teach Mathew how to do it when he was gone.

I watch and learn for myself I don't usually let anyone tell me whether I should or shouldn't. The message is good. It's helped put things in a different perspective. And the stories move me.

By now you have likely seen season 3. We are now getting into the depth of Jesus, ahis teachings, the miracles, the apostles beginning ever so slowly to understand pain and then move forward in their own growth with Jesus. Gives me hope for our own salvation to know that they were human like us. Somehow, we (or maybe just me) had forgotten their humanness.

Derral Eves, the co-founder and executive producer of the show, is Mormon. God doesn't want us to be unequally yoked, whether it be in marriage, a business partnership, a media collaboration, etc. It's one thing for a member of the crew to be Mormon. They may do what they've been professionally trained to do, without much bearing on the show. But, a co-founder and a executive producer has tremendous weight and influence on the show. Moreover, God never blessed alliances with false religions in the past.

Haven't finished the whole video yet but I must say thank u for sharing this video message, it's a relevant topic that I was thinking about the other day when some Christians strongly disagreed with it, whereas I had been okay with it.... But above all else, the Chosen should never replace scripture nor should I let it. God's word is the only absolute truth we have in this world and where I want to run to FIRST.
