I love how the cast of characters in this show breaks the norm for a Shounen, being more than their tropes. Gon is that childish protagonist who sometimes gets serious, but he actually thinks through problems, and is creative. Often he wins by outsmarting someone. Important fights of his don't seem to devolve into wild punching. He's also emotionally diverse. Many shonen protagonists have 2 settings in fights (I'm mad) or (I'm happy). how many times has Gon been terrified of who he's fighting? Kuripika is the character with a revenge plot, but unlike others in the genre, his revenge is on screen. He gets his own season dedicated to his character growth, and is possibly the best season so far. His revenge doesn't have him ruining friendships either, him and Gon are still great friends. Leorio is the comic relief weakling, simply because he has other priorities, not incompetence. He wants to be a pediatrician / doctor. Often times he's the most helpful in a situation because he's an adult, with normal sensibilities. Killua is the dark villainous character, but he's COMPLETELY selfless in caring about his best friend. He's not just some emo kid, Gon is his best friend, first friend, and nothing can convince him to hurt Gon. He has an emotional dependence on that relationship. Something rather realistic for a kid with a childhood like his.

I need a HxH rpg, written by Togashi himself. He's a big Dragon Quest fan as well, did Greed Island in his own story. It would be amazing. Have it be set in the HxH world but with totally different characters. Picking what Nen type you want to be an go on an incredible adventure as a beast hunter or whatever, have elements of being a detective in there, some great studio behind it and you got yourselves one of the best rpg's ever.
Guys, I've finished it in 2 weeks.. the amount of emotions was too high! I felt the comedy of the 1st arch, drive of the 2nd, enjoyment of the 3rd, drama of the 4th and relief of the 5th... All at once.
What an amazing 8-bit cover! I love HunterXHunter. It's the first anime series through Crunchyroll I watched from start to finish. I hope they continue the series in the future.
