No company can't stay on top forever. Things tend to fester and rot when you get too comfortable at the top. Samsung will face crisis, again and again. Only question is if it will stand up again. If not, others will. And so goes on and on and on.
@@M3ganwillslay The same. Apple already went through at least a couple of highs and lows, nearly went out of biz at one point then roared back up. Never compare other countries stock with USA.. USA stock price is highly inflated considering there stales ... In true comparison...I think Samsung is way more valued than Amazon, Tesla or NVIDIA...
You have to take into account what country the company is based in. That alone would make them much more valuable than Samsung. Money is intrinsically tied to power. When the USA says reshore, It basically meant the good times is over.

That's just American stock market inflation. The more investors put their money in it, the more the price inflate disproportionately. There are no production backing up those inflated stock prices but they blindly trust it like they trust the US dollar. As long as trust is there it will grow infinitely but when it's broken, the fall gonna be apocalyptic.
SK has same problem as Germany and other consumer production countries to follow US sanction policy. They should be for their interest to be biggest fighter for free trade, but instead of this they cooperate in every sanction adventure.
For the South Korean economy to not implode they need to diversify and split the chaebols into smaller companies. One company should not dictate a countries economy.
If it was the 1990s yeah it could’ve been possible to split them. But now they are too big to fail/split. If any of the 4 giants(Samsung, Hyundai, SK, LG) goes down South Korean economy will go bust
China is willing to buy SK chip but SK must promise (as treaty) that they will not follow the US sanctions on China's advance in semiconductor. But because SK hasn't given China such trust, China has to manage itself. And thanks to its market, Chinese companies can produce whatever chip it needs in the long run. Apart from chip, SK is losing in multiple frontiers such as 5G, EV, ship building (you heard it right), space exploration, AI... You know who is attempting to weaken both China and SK, to bring back manufacturing to their own country.
This is actually such a lazily made video. How on earth can you talk about Samsung's slump without explaining 1) the large profit hit Samsung took because they were ordered by the US government to stop selling chips to China. Kind of a problem when China was their largest customer buying 50% of their chips. That wiped out a lot of their profit. 2) You dont explain that aside from failing to catch up to TSCM in memory chips they also failed to catch up to SONY in image sensors. Another area where they spent a lot of money and did not get results. 3) You also don't mention the recent ex employee of Samsung that left to work for Qualcomm that interviewed over 70 Samsung employees. The results of which showed low morale in the company, disdain between the management and engineers, and management focused on and chasing short term goals.......
Samsung definitely has problems. Based on stories in the South Korean media Samsung is not spending on long term RnD. And based on Samsung employees that were interviewed morale is low and there is general disdain between the management and the engineers. There are reported general complaints that Samsung management is focused on short term goals over long term strategy such as RnD and innovation (which take a long time to pull off). As well as complaints about better pay based on age and position as opposed to results. Clearly there are big problems at Samsung. And it is evidenced by the lack of profit, declining share price, and losing market share to Chinese brands in various product categories. And there are recent media reports that Samsung has started studying Japanese companies (such as Sony) to see how they pivoted and got into new businesses as the Chinese brands are doing to SAMSUNG what Samsung itself did to the Japanese brands 15 years ago.

Samsung still earns a quarterly profit of 7-8billion dollars. That’s 30billion a year and more than enough to invest in rnd. The problem is South Korean brains are being sucked up by US big techs in Silicon Valley and a lot of Samsung engineers are exiting the company.
