My instructor told me to wear a ball cap for my road test, the brim makes the movements of your head more obvious. I passed both my road tests on the first attempt.

As far as I remember, they have an additional mirror directed at your eyes.
Here in Canada, the other mirror is to give them a view of the rear window and not for the eyes of the driver.
@@TorontoDrivers My neighbor is a driving instructor. In her car there are 3 internal mirrors.
One «normal» rear view for each of the two persons and the third mirrow to the far right, where the instructor can observe the student with a slight side view. I’d suppose it also serve the blind spot to the left for the instructor. I could ask the next time I meet her.

I learned to drive in the UK. Was never taught to exaggerate my mirror checks, never did. Passed fourth time but never got a fault for mirrors.
IMHO, with your mirrors correctly set, you shouldn't need to move anything but your eyes (although I understand what he's talking about here completely). I also think everyone should have adjustable blind spot mirrors too.

I agree, but I suppose for the sake of a test they need to see you, in the flesh, demonstrate the fundamentals.

In Dubai it’s the same you need to bit exaggerate the checking so that the examiner can see yes you checked.

That is so true about moving the head while driving and even paying attention. I have watched some of those Canada Worst Drivers. One guy is blind in one eye and doesn’t moved his head or even paying attention. He looked liked a zombie when he is driving.

Yea my examiner told me to do this and I passed
I'm super nervous. I got my g2 I had to wait a year until I could get my g however I figured I had plenty of time to practice so I could get better so I decided to take another year or so. Then I booked my test it got canceled due to lockdowns when they finally opened up it took over 6 months to book another test and then my mask fell down wile driving and the instructor canceled the test. It took months again to book a test and then it was canceled again. Again it took months but I finally have my test on the 6th hopefully no lockdowns but my license expires this year i can't have the wild goose chase of trying to book appointments I don't have the time. I have to drive 4 hours out of town for my exam. Wish me luck🤞
