for me it was the other way around! i listened to these demos so much when they first came out and then hearing that line pop up on sickness & in flames made me smile so hard
@@elladumpsterfire Sadly I didn't know of them until after Going Grey so I never got to hear these as demos but regardless its still awesome! Like the sheer talent these guys have always had is amazing. They were almost instantly my favorite band when a friend showed them to me.
@@freethesespirits4696 'Going Grey' and 'In Sickness...' were both total balls. I didnt thought it impossible that this band could make a bad album, let alone 2, but here we are...... and now I dont believe in God
I woke up in a cold morning with this song playing on the background. I never felt so cold, or bare or lonely at the same time but mostly sexy and alive
Right? It makes me so happy that they do this constantly, ugh, such genius composing in order to fit them that well and develop such amazing songs around them. I've always wondered if there is a story or more that go across all their songs.
@@emilio9821 i think you could definitely find connections between HELP and leaf pile at the very least. first hearing it i thought HELP was about a person but they could easily both be about drugs/addiction. maybe HELP being about the addiction itself and leaf pile about recovery ? idk these r just thoughts :-)
I mean some of the lyrics were reused for leaf pile, that's what tends to happen with these demos, little bits drift off into the officially released stuff but never the whole songs
That never changed. You could go to a live show and find that out immediately. Just because their production value was higher doesn't mean they were worse because of it.
I wouldn't say it's worse. I'd say it's very different, but there's still a lot of heart to it and it has that TFB feel underneath the layers of studio production. Regardless, Brian said BoT was just an experiment with a bigger budget and the next release will probably be nothing like it at all.
+Christian Babin People just shit on change, BoT was fantastic, not their best in my opinion but at least 3 songs from it are in my top 10 TFB songs EDIT: And no offense to TFB fans but a lot of them seem like the type to be very closed minded about the music they listen to, in that they only really want indie acoustic old TFB-ish stuff
Josh A People are entitled to their opinions on what they like, though I will agree, that I feel some are a little more extreme than others, even going as far as claiming they don't like TFB anymore because of one album's direction. As a long time Say Anything fan, it's not anything I haven't seen before: a band reaches a prominent height in their career, lots of people are on-board with it, but the second there's even a slight alteration in direction, a portion of the fan base gets up in arms about it and jumps ship. I feel like these newly released demos of BoT songs are slowly drawing those fans back in, though. I guess we'll just have to wait for the next LP to see if they'll continue sticking around or bail again.
L. Wolf It's not...because it's a demo. Listen to the lyrics. "On some nights there's something cool to do..." This is a song that was eventually primarily thrown away save for some lyrics that went into "help"
Braden Carlson I'm not fighting you. Fueled by Ramen definitely made them cut down their songs to be more radio friendly. I think the band made an agreement with the label to let them release these demos to show people they still like making stuff like this.
Everything this band does in unreal, if you think BoT was shit, you're shit. Their sound has evolved over the last few years and changed, but this is probably the weirdest, most unique band I've ever followed. They're like a musical amoeba, and their sound is gonna keep changing. Don't like it, fuck off, but TFB is one of the only bands that has managed to make music that I've loved from the start, and my love has only managed to grow as they change.
hearing the line "It was all to see who could ride a motorcycle faster" here after first hearing it on In Sickness & In Flames is super cool

they posted these to their website early
7 years late 😭😭
I love this!!
In all honesty this gives a window into the fact that this band is still pretty damn good underneath all the unnecessary production sheen.
That never changed. You could go to a live show and find that out immediately. Just because their production value was higher doesn't mean they were worse because of it.
Well sure, but the recorded music itself is certainly worse as a result of the production...
I wouldn't say it's worse. I'd say it's very different, but there's still a lot of heart to it and it has that TFB feel underneath the layers of studio production. Regardless, Brian said BoT was just an experiment with a bigger budget and the next release will probably be nothing like it at all.

LOSTEN W HEADPHONES IT GETS COOL AT 1:58
Bro that food looks good right about now
I never felt so cold and scared and lonely at the same time.
i love this so bad
I still believe all these years later
modern baseball references? sad sounding acoustic story telling? tfb? my favorites
at the end, are they singing sexy and lonely simultaneously?
brave, strong, sexy / cold, scared, lonely at the same time
This is so different but so good :)
It's not different, lol. Back on Top, Rose and Talon are different. This is more like their old stuff. I wish they'd release like this regularly.
+Braden Carlson this probs not through the label.
L. Wolf It's not...because it's a demo. Listen to the lyrics. "On some nights there's something cool to do..." This is a song that was eventually primarily thrown away save for some lyrics that went into "help"

L. Wolf For sure
as for me i still believe
does this sound a bit like okkerville river to anyone else
anyone happen to know the chords for this?
"Just like everybody else" sounded like a line from the song Help
Anyone know the chords for this? Starts on A
Dat tapas!
im not crying you're crying
this makes me depressed in the best way
the beginning sounds a lot like okerville river to me
Now this is a good community
i am so damaged
Can I download this?

Hi Eric!!!! I hope u like this song 🎵 🌿🐛
Take me Miles
lyrics!?!??
what's with the awkward food picture? lol
Feel fucking sad listening to this. It feels like everything worthy has already happened and now all that's left is waiting. Idk
this
Anyone know chords?
Jack Rowland Yeah, the verses are A and D, while the bridge is E, D, and A. The chorus is A D A E. I'm not sure about the ending though.
Help didn’t deserve these lyrics
No way, Help is a banger. Same as the new version of West Virginia. The ideas *and lyrics* are way more flushed out.
that food look good as fuuuccj thoo lol wtf
WITH HEADPHHONES THO
