Favorite accounting channel
Good video Bill!
I do believe in accounting the work-life balance can be more stressful as there are tight deadlines to close books, send financials, etc!
Not gonna disagree
This helps a ton! Switching from job in software engineering to accounting due to the tech market being oversaturated.
You have an accounting degree or does your degree suffice?
@@Bert1010 comp sci degree from a school in Texas- lots of transferred credits so should only take about a year - but I’m gonna do WGU to speed it up since I’m currently working and need flexibility and to speed it up.
So true for FP&A
Thank you, Bill, for sharing this great information! I wish you could make another content regarding career path opportunities of other sections like tax, advisory, etc, in public accounting companies. Also, I believe adding two factors of AGE and AI to each career path opportunity would be so helpful.
Thanks
Great suggestion!
Thanks Bill for the insight. Please share link to the video you've done on how to write notes/footnotes for financial accounts.
Hi, I really enjoy your content. I am currently a senior accountant for a PE company with a background in private accounting. I’ve been deliberating between making a pivot into FP&A or almost starting over and applying for a state government audit position. The reason I want to try audit is because I later want to get into consulting and I’ve been advised that that’s the route to go. Do you have any advice or thoughts on this career pivot?
Do a lot of people go to private equity as an exit?
No academe path?
Will Accounting job replace by AI please make a video on that!!!
Hi sir , acca or cpa which is demnad in uae
Hi. I came across your videos because I was not sure whether to exit out of public accounting to accept an Assistant Controller role at a startup company. Would you say that an Assistant Controller can ultimately transition well into a Controller role? Do you have any advice on starting a career on a startup co?
Assistant controller can hundred percent transition into controller
Hi, i had a very urgent thing to know . Sole proprietorship-Income statement and Financial position with adjustments (Accrued expenses/prepaid expenses/Depreciation-straightline
What is your angle about AI and finance/accounting? How do you think these roles will disappear or evolve?
good idea for a future video
Why was the Work/Life Balance for Internal Audit lower than Industry?
I live in a MCOL city and the salaries here are nowhere near your estimates. Maybe I'm just an underperformer, but I'm a CPA 6 years in, about to take a controller position for just over 100k.
Size of company and scope of role play a difference. Congrats on the new role!
Is it true that there is shortage of accountanta in USA?
There is a educational institution in India which is selling this, and encouraging to get CPA and move to America from India.
What salary can I expect if i decide to move to US after getting CPA? I have around 9 years experience as a Senior Accountant
Yes, there is a shortage in the US. The salaries (as a range) are mentioned in the video
Here’s a question…when is it too late to consider becoming CPA. I’ve worked in accounting for over 10 years and earn a decent salary. But I noticed job posts are requiring certifications regardless of years of experience
If you are already an Accountant, I don't think there is a limit (but not 70 obviously). I would think even if you are 50, CPA will give you a great ROI on the effort (but the younger, say 25-40, the better)
I currently work in banking for a credit union. After getting my CPA would it be more beneficial for me to leave to get some public accounting experience and return to banking or apply for a position with my accounting department and work my way up the ranks that way? Big fan of your channel and thanks in advance for your advice.
Hello Bill , Can a foreign graduate with a Master’s degree in accounting from US wwith GPA3.76 get a job in accounting field if he needs H1B sponsorship ? How hard can it be to get the job ? I speak Chinese and English. Do I get much better chance getting the job if a US company is doing business with China and needs an account who is bilingual?
It’s hard but doable
Dude do you recommend studying data analytics if you're in accounting? I would love to do a masters in business analytics, would you recommend it?
Yes, if you are into data analytics. This field combined with Accounting skills is growing nicely.
@@TheFinancialController is it a route to FP&A career?
