Hey, Devamsha! I’m Alma, a student received the offer of PwC this year. I watched most of ur videos about audit in big four, and thought these are really helpful to know more about this job, and lower my anxiety before starting this career, especially this video. But I am in China and most of us do not use UA-cam, and some are not good at English. So I am wondering if I could translate this video into Chinese and upload it in one of our most popular video websites called bilibili? I believe it will help lots of people like me. I will put the original link of your video if I could get the permission. Thank you so much for all of your inspiring videos!
What auditors do: 1. Research an audit. 2. Test the transactions, programs, etc for the audit. 3. Create and update workpapers. 4. Draft a report 5. Management take the report, say your testing sucks and write what they want in the report. 6. Repeat.
@@woahdereboiiii If you intend to test them properly - you need to understand these concepts well, although not necessarily as in-depth as the person preparing notes for years (whose work you are testing). There is much more higher focus on auditing skills though and these would be: professional scepticism, ability to understand accounting concepts applied by audited entities in relatively short time (each client may have their own nuances) and ability to face clients.
Thank you so much, in a world where they refuse to even educate on what you will be doing on the field I feel relieved that I at least know what I am working towards
So informative! Never heard someone talk about the day to day of audit with so much detail in YT video. Really useful for someone like me applying for positions at the mo.

I'm deep in ACCA Audit and Assurance right now and, unlike most students, I love it 😂Unlike tax which changes all the time and is super tied to one single country so you can't move around the world, yeah, screw tax. I can't wait to get my first auditing role, although speaking with the client does sound nerve wracking especially orally. Thanks for the insights. Love the in-depth description of day-to-day tasks and responsibilities, especially as I am a graduate who is looking to get into auditing, so these videos are super helpful for insight and interview prep! (e.g. In case any errors occurred at their end) Secondly, when do you work individually and when do you collaborate with others or as a team?
really glad this video was useful for you! in response to your questions, you just have to be super clear when you request things from the client. there are usually a number of procedures to check their work is free from error. however you get better at asking with the job :) and to be honest collaboration is a constant thing! you're always going to be part of a team, you might have individual areas like cash or accounts receivable, but the whole team is working together on the whole audit. when you're stuck, you can reach out and vice versa!

So you dont actually have to speak to a person(client)? I have telephone anxiety but really interested in audit
I have audit experience, and yes, you’d talk with clients. A lot
i would hate do this my whole life, this is just me though. my dad is forcing me to do auditing and i hate it, my math is terrible and nothing interests me, i want to do marketing but there is nothing worth doing in marketing as the pay is bad and i don't have many job offers where i live :(
I’d say that even if the pay is worse, getting more satisfaction out of your job is totally worth it
Hey! I actually spoke about this in my recent vid, I am NOT good at math lol. I agree that job satisfaction should be the aim but you also have to be practical, when you’re young any experience and skill set is easily transferable. If you do audit that doesn’t mean you can’t ever do marketing!
This video is helpful for accounting students who want to work at big 4, like me. Can you share to us regarding the skill and knowledge required to become an auditor?
Glad you enjoyed it 🤩 I’ll definitely make more content around that!
This is so helpful, thanks.
Thank you so much for dvice! I It is always helpful
Thank you sooo much for this❤️❤️
So it's like extreme proof-reading with customer service sprinkled on top?
Thanks for this video. Really informative.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Thank you so much. That was very helpful
Hello, which Software do you use to automate the process and get all the invoices, files and information from you client for an audit? Is there a software that provide automated confirmation in the UK? Thank you...
Hi there , I like your content by the way💓 ..what type of software do associate auditors use on the engagement?? ,, and is SAP finance , quickbooks , or tableau and python and R ,, are relevant or necessary foe associate ??
Hi, each firm will have their own internally developed software, so prior experience of it is never necessary! They train you to master it 😃
@@Devamsha Thanks you😊✌
Thank you so much sister!!❤ 👌👏..
Cant even pass the psychometric test forget the interview stage
It’s a difficult process and I found it hard too. Just have to keep trying! Good luck 👍🏽
If you know it won't work out don't be afraid to try out another career path. Some routes just aren't for every person and there is always other options out there.
@@johndawhale3197 I signed in just to reply to your comment - why TF would you tell her to switch careers over a fucking psychometric test?? I have a 3.92 cGPA, currently doing an audit internship at Deloitte and I found the test to be troubling as well. You sound insanely ignorant bud.
Thank you for the advice! While I am Japanese who envisage work in london as a auditor or related job with ACCA certification. How to get BIG4 job in london as a forighner? Could you tell me the way to encourage for my dream?
I am an audit intern for 3 months now and I really have difficulties in everything. I am that kind of person that hesitate to ask a question because i think that someone is bothered, so i try to solve the problem by my own, with no result :( . Devamasha can you please give me some advice.
And is there any videos that can help me and other audit beginners to some kind of audit procedures ( TOC, SAP, selection from GL, etc )
In the Big 4, during busy season can the extra hours be claimed as overtime? Do you usually get paid a higher rate for overtime? Or is it just expected in the standard salary?
No.
No.
Yes.
@@ChicagoT3d Cheers i thought that would be the case. That sounds unfair.
Hi, i have a long way before looking to apply for roles yet, but i wanted to ask with the audit graduate program, did you have to travel a lot? Sorry if this is a silly question haha
I want to start a career in Auditing. I just need a mentor to help guide me through. This is an industrial brain-drain for me cos I'm moving from one sector to the finance sector. I've always had the desire to go into auditing. But I don't know what courses , exams , skills I need.
This was very insightful! Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is very helpful info for someone like myself looking to transition into this career field. Thank you for the insights.
