  • Learn how to crochet the Solomon's Knot. I love how different this stitch can look with different weight yarns. It can look super sleek and modern made in heavier weight yarns or delicate and traditional made in light weight yarns. Either way, it's a beautiful stitch which is surprisingly easy to do and perfect for projects such as Market bags, Lacy scarves, lightweight cover ups, tops and homeware.

    -How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?

    I just made my daughter a shawl using the Solomon’s knot out of mohair/acrylic yarn. I made the loop part a bit bigger and it turned out lovely.

    I love the Solomon's Knot! So open and airy. Thank you for yet another very easy to follow tutorial. I am a beginner crocheter and I have learned so much from your videos. The way you explain every step is perfect for someone like myself who is still trying to get the hang of crochet. Thanks again.

      I’m sure you have figured this out, but be careful (since you are new) because the terminology in the US is different, She tells you that, but many forget to mention it. Hope this makes sense. Happy crocheting,

    Hi, what is blocking and when and how should you use it?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Рік тому

      Blocking is great for patterns like Solomon’s Knot as it stretches the yarn into shape and really shows off the pattern detailing 😊 For cotton or wool yarns you can simply wet them (either spray or soak) and stretch them gently into shape; for acrylic yarn you will need to steam block by pinning it into shape and using an iron to blast steam at it (be careful not to let the iron touch the yarn though or it will melt!)

    How did the Solomon’s knots get its name?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Рік тому

      A knot is a link with only one continuous component. As to why it's called Solomon's Knot, the symbol became associated with King Solomon, the ancient Hebrew king, known for his infinite wisdom. Since he was one of the wisest Hebrew kings, these knots connote wisdom, knowledge, and, in some cases, occult power. :)
