Same ! Lol. Always watch this video to feel the nostalgia of feeling like I have my whole life ahead of me. Oh, how things change. Graduate between 2009-2012?
I love this song it makes me happy, you all do such a beautiful job, its different and just very sweet. Thank you and I wish you much more success bless you.
You're ability to play unique but appealing sounds is matchless. You create amazing instrumentals that simply translate to purely unique sounds. As a fan of yours since 2010, and still a huge fan of yours after 4 years of army servlice, keep it up! Do not let the opinions of others dictate how you play your music. It matches everyone's perspective that enjoys the small and simple, yet huge parts, of your music!
For some reason, whenever I hear this (starting at 1:10), I can see hundreds of black and white penguins running in a breathing mob across icy, glistening sheets of ice in the Arctic somewhere. Running, shuffling, moving penguins. I don't know a lot of songs that give me the same visual as this one does!
Fuckin' eh!! This came up on my "Facebook Memories" today from a few years back. Totally forgot all about it, haven't heard it in years, but as soon as I started listening to it, it all started coming back. Sooooo beautiful, so good. Thank you Facebook and thank you Freelance Whales. :)
Well wadda ya know, young musicians who are actually very talented and sound great, there may be hope after all, definitely will catch them live at Mohegan Sun.I'm a 75 years old retired musician who has no tolerance for what passes for some music today so this is very refreshing;true talent.
I wouldn't have them change a thing....I still love this performance as much now as I did when I first saw-heard it years ago...yes, it was someone who had shared it on FB - so glad....
I just saw the Chevrolet commercial and heard your song in the background. I was like, "NO WAY!!!" and was really excited because it really was your song. Yayayayayayay!
James Parr lmfao 😂 true. It's very hillbilly with the type of instruments they chose but for w.e reason I love it & I'm Puerto Rican. It puts me in a trance & makes me feel relaxed. Lol
This band is way cooler than I imagined. The vocals and the melody are impecable. Another band right to my obsession list! Thank you, Darren, thank you StarKid
I actually got here because of a T shirt reference in a John Sandford novel. One of the great things about music and literature is that when they are at their best, they feed each other, and we are all better for it. I won't say they are my new favorite band. They are interesting, and have a unique sound. They definitely wouldn't cause me to change the radio station. Thumbs up for original music!
wrrd. i used to work for starbucks and this song definitely describes the mood of every store across the counrty. very nice theme. i just finished buying it off itunes. 99cents, u cant beat that. nice!
listen people. i did not come here from starbucks but that does not mean that i think less of the people who did. just because they heard it on a commercial, they still recognized these peoples amazing talent! who cares how they heard, just enjoy the music!
Amazing...if I were not watching the video I would have thought this was made in a studio with a bunch of high-tech toys and vocal FX!! Wow just plain old God given natural talent might be making a come-back.
This was the anthem of my junior year of high school. I’m still here for it.
Same ! Lol. Always watch this video to feel the nostalgia of feeling like I have my whole life ahead of me. Oh, how things change. Graduate between 2009-2012?

This song is so relaxing. I always listen to it when I am in need of some calm.
"and when we quiet down the house chants on without us"
I don't know what it is about those lyrics I just LOVE them. I don't know why.
I KNOWWWWW whoever writes the lyrics for the band is an absolute genius in my opinion
11 years ago, this changed my preference in music. Sheer brilliance.
I was so obsessed with this album when it came out. There was nothing like it in the cultural landscape of the time.
Great track , just beautiful, after nine years
I'm back after a year. Love the harmony of this always.
Thank you chuck for helping me find this!
There are sevaaaaaaral ways to spend a night. Listening to Freelance whales is most definitely on the list.
Rest in peace, Chuck Criss. I'm still shocked by this heartwrenching news.
Props to NPR for picking up such amazing artists and showcasing their work.
Most beautiful thing I've ever seen I love this song and them!❤️

I love the tone of this, the way it all falls together is amazing. The timbre of this song is blowing my mind, great job Freelance Whales.
my favorite part is where they say "Ah ah ah ah ah ah"
There is a pure, wonderful lifetime of whimsy and love captured in this song.
rip chuck, you will be severely missed 🖤
One of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.

BEST PART: You can hear all five instruments separately :D
I love the simplicity and the beauty of the song.

I read your name as "nickelbagboy"
docfabz Haha I like that.
+nickbagelboy ;)
I wish this whole song was on Spotify. I need more of it.
It’s killing me that they don’t make music anymore
That's what I really don't like about finding small music channels. They're always amazing, but they last uploaded like a decade ago.
@@liamhenderson7367 one of those smile because it happened situations.
Yeah, I'm smiling because it happened and I still have the songs. I just wish I was there when it happened :(
Me too😥
i wish i couldhave found this band sooner. They're music is so calming
this song hits different now that Chuck is gone. Rest in Peace.
this song always makes me cry, it's so beautiful.
Chris Pratt? Is that you?
i absolutely love this song

Is that a statement or a question.
That is a harmonium which is an Indian instrument. It's kind of a key board
Brogan Knebel great minds think alike...i thought the same thing lol
This is my favorite type of music! It's so happy
RIP Chuck ❤️
I like this a lot. This is one of those songs that are impossible to replicate in a cover.
This live version definitely needs more cowbell.
i just heard this song on a chevrolet volt commercial (i couldnt believe my ears when i heard it)... you guys are freaking awesome
and the xylophone was overwhelming...
Words can't describe how amazing this is. The instruments they're playing are INSANE!!! I love it x1000000
Starbucks commercial brought me here years ago. Now I'm here once again.
same here it just popped up in my head glad I remember this!

A friend sent me the link to this song and I haven't stopped listening yet! Loving the box-bagpipe-accordion.
