@@petercampbell869 Exactly what we need. Great to see these young players of skill coming in, just as Mickey Harte goes out. I've great respect for Harte, as many do, but that's the problem - too much respect stifles creativity & players 'owning games.' Tyrone needs to fear less, express more. Be less cautious, take Way more risks & trust in 'luck', sometimes. When the Dubs were beating us by 7 in the final, with seconds to go we were STILL 'taking our points' - crazy! If the tables were turned, Gavin would have been shouting, 'GO MENTAL'! lol. I've been to see many games in Croker & the warm-ups are SO revealing. We peddle through the same old hand passing & tackling routines, with the odd punt at the post - but even there, there is fear. That MUST be dispelled. We've won 3, now, so it's time to be free & free up the players - they'd enjoy playing so much more. Then you look at the Dub's warmup. They're ALL going for goal shots, even the full-backs, & this translates onto the pitch. Every time a Dub gets the ball near to the nets', they all go for goal - even the guy with 2 left feet, lol. Sure, they miss most, but even if you're beating the Dubs by 10 points, with 10 mins to go, they could still win the game with 4 feckin goals. No one has just pushed them that far, yet, for us to see that, but i know they're capable of it. We have to be to, to get close to competing with them. Mickey was perfect when we were desperate for and almost afraid of an All-Ireland title, but now we gotta 'let loose.' Also, I feel that we would never win while he had his ban of RTE. Like what would RTE do if we had have won it? Talk to no one after the game? Wait outside the hotel after the match while the players get drunk inside? The only ones who would talk to them are the fans. Mickey was right to fall out with RTE, but the whole team shouldn't have joined in. I want Dooher or Cavanagh as our next manager because they at least 'went for it', rather than just hanging about in defense all day. Mickey made us into an army, & that is great - but it will win no titles, nowadays. The fans would be happier, too. I've seen many supposedly loyal fans 'give up' on Tyrone, due to the lack of imagination. I wish Mickey very well & know he will do very well with Louth. Any team would gain greatly from the discipline he instills, but won't win you an All-Ireland. For that, you really need to 'SHOOT for the stars.'
