Great questions, while contrology is made by Balanced Body the measurements, cushion etc are going to be different. This barrel is made based off an over 40 year old barrel. It does have the pedal feature which I do love. But its so so different from a contemporary. That beind said if you already have a BB ladder barrel you can take this class xx~LL
