I stopped caring about the oscars in 2015 when they snubbed American Sniper and gave all the awards to a very forgettable film about a guy in a bird suit.
And just like then, nobody cares.
On the other hand, I know about the sniper film and have no idea what you're talking about with the "...guy in a bird suit..." - So that might indicate how important those awards are....

The movie Sound Of Freedom should have won something at Oscar's, and actor Jim Caviezel should have won an Oscar for his lead performance in the Sound Of Freedom. But the movie got snubbed because, according to Hollywood the Sound of Freedom, it was too controversial. Really ? Was the miniseries movie The Roots too controversial also back in the 70s ? The Sound of Freedom film had to go to another country to get notice, and that country is the Netherlands in Amsterdam to get nominated and win the best film award. The award is called the Septimius Award . At least the Dutch appreciate a great movie when they see one.
