"Controlled Distress" - Навчання та стиль
One the west coast growing up, um, more than let's say 10 years ago, it was The Warehouse and Tower Records for us.
Nice!! My cousin worked at Turtles back in the 80's. There was a Monster Truck show coming up and they were a ticket outlet. She had a couple of good ole boys come in to get tickets. "Well, I've got a bunch right up front close to the action." "no ma'am, we want to sit up high. Where the fumes are!"
Great Video Steve ! Love This Idea ! Awesome To See New Updates On Your Channel ! We Have A New Retro Themed Record Store Here In Burlington !
Great CNC project, Steve. It came out wonderfully. Our Record store around here is Homers... Still around today.
Thanks for sharing. Felix
Where I grew up it was Tape head company. I want one of those X Carve.
Awesome job Steve. !! ! Love your videos and inventive ideas !!! Keep up the Great work !! !
Fantastic Steve. I love the colors. Rock on.
Love that lettering - to me that just means The Goodies. Other UK viewers will know what I mean. Cheers Steve, your vids are always a treat!
Not just in the UK. Living Down Under, I grew up on the Goodies.
@@markdancer3501 Hey Mark! I'd forgotten that The Goodies were huge in Oz, poor old Tim, eh? And such a coincidence - I was just listening to Men at Work when I noticed this reply... What a great song.
You got to get a down spiral bit. All of that tear out on the pockets will be gone
Steve, I love it~! Seeing the finished display and hearing you throwing out the names of the record stores really takes me back. I grew up "down the road" from you in Chattanooga, TN, and I spent A LOT of time at Record Bar. The other store we had was Paradise Records & Tapes (where I remember buying the cassette Crimes of Passion by Pat Benatar during the grand opening. Wore that tape out~!!) Good times~!
Awesome! I met OZZY at Record Bar once. He was so out of it that he could barely sign 'Ozzy' on a cover.
I grew up in Atlanta, haven’t been back in years, Turtles takes me back! Probably still have some stamps somewhere!
Turned out great Steve, awesome work! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
We had in Nashville in 70's & 80's Turtles, and Cats, and the big chain Tower Records
Really cool. You could put the logo on a plaque that is secured to the board by pegs. That way it would be interchangeable.
@Steve, if you replaced the two dowels with a shelf arrangement, this would also work for CDs, DVDs, or any other physical media.
Nicely done Steve! As others have noted, next time use a down spiral bit for less tear out. BTW, The colors turned out great................... 👍👍😉😉
Awesome project Steve. Its good to see you back. I hope you are doing well. Be safe!
Hi Bekim! Thank you very much. It's good to be back. All is well here, hope all is well with you. Take care!
Love your videos Steve! I always enjoy what a positive energy you have. If you did one of these with the Peaches Records and Tapes logo, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
Thanks Rob! I just finished a Disc Jockey Music Store one for a friend. I'll do Peaches next.
Nice project. That Van Halen album is one of my favorite albums of all time. Good choice.
Just awesome. Great retro feel!
That was neat!
I love it!
Excelente!!!
Nice job Steve looks good. Keep these videos coming. We need more of Steve on a regular basis, only one month at a time sounds like a mortgage. Hope you guys stay safe and are doing good.
We had Peaches records and we still have Vintage Vinyl on Delmar.
Very cool stuff.
Thanks Brian!
We did have the greatest time in the 80's.
thats cool...
You should try adding the 'twisted neck' Turtle mascot to the area the album covers up.
Love it 😍 and I knew you were gonna play Van Halen lol l love Van Halen
Steve, I do miss the record store’s! I used to go in to flip through the 45’s but mostly to meet chicks - haha. Is that font called something referencing the flower child days of the 60’s and 70’s. Reminds me of the girls with very long hair, wearing muumuu dresses, mini skirts and tank tops - oh yea!
Another great video my friend. Turtles does bring back some memories.
Hi Bill! Thank you sir! Yes it sure does! You might like this company in Ballground that prints tshirts like Turtle's, 96rock, and other old Atlanta logos and themes - www.seapparelinc.com/
Welcome back, Starving Midnight Cowboy almost. It's 60-70 here so it ought to be around 500 there. Remain calm and keep making videos. You know I worry about you when you hide! GBWYall!
Hey Lewie! Good to hear from you. Hope you are doing well! It was kind of cold here today...48 deg tonight! Still got shorts on though. lol Take care and thanks for watching and commenting!!!
@@SteveCarmichael Got to keep track of you, Buddy! Us starving guys got to stick together. All is well here in the hills as it is down there. Some of yall have come up here so it all evens out I suppose. You remain calm and keep on being Steve! I'll be Lew in spite of everything I can do! GBWYall!
@@SteveCarmichael And short britches FOREVER!
really cute,.💯👍👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️
Thanks Giovanni!
Great video and great project, I’d like to try something like that!!! Look into a down cut bit for the engraving part, it will eliminate 99% of that tear out 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
high voltage records out in tacoma WA still does that, its the reason i bought a JB's record i wouldnt have listened to otherwise
Nifty
Our little record shop here in Madera use to do the same thing. This project sure brought back some good memories Steve.
Thank for sharing it. Do you remember the first record you bought there?
Shocked to find out you hung out at record stores when you were young!
Ha ha! I spent way too many hours in those stores. It was the only way to find out about new music though, especially stuff the radio wouldn't play. I miss them.
Steve Carmichael Me too. We had some cool record stores in Seattle Wa. In the 90’s. Really cool.
Steve i watched your fan repair video from 4 years ago and figured you were more likely to see a question on your most recent video! My lasko cyclone fan blades were wobbly and making an awful noise so i took it apart and put it back together. Once i turned it on it worked great so i turned it off to put the front grill on and the fan fell off the motor shaft. Any idea how to get it to stay on?
Hmm, if it doesn't tighten up when you push it on, then I would probably try to glue it on with a hot glue gun. Hot glue holds well and is easy to heat up and remove if you need to get it off.
💖💖💯😎👍👍🍕🍻
