I was speculating it would be difficult to play because of all the intricacies (little details played by each instrument) played in the background to produce the resultant harmony. Not to mention the synchronization of everyone playing the correct notes at the right time is crucial to the success of a song. It takes a lot of practice. Overall, I would say this song has a blend of many different emotions, which imo makes it challenging to play as intended. Again, this is only speculation, I could be wrong.
@@Snowyness This is a classic example of a piece sounding difficult but being "easy" (for a professional orchestra) due to clever compositional choices. For example, the violin runs which I believe what you're mentioning when talking about the "intricacies" sound a lot harder than they are in practice as the patterns displayed have minimal "jumps" and "tricky" intervals. Ensemble synch isn't much of an issue as there were backing tracks playing to keep everyone in time. (But even if there weren't, you would expect any orchestra to keep in time with a piece that doesn't have any modulating speeds or time signatures) I hate to sound dismissive but emotional weight and variance in a song is 80% composition 20% performance. Don't get me wrong, the orch played the piece flawlessly but it wouldn't have been much of a challenge for any of them. Source: Composer

@@Snowyness I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say with that point. I was specifically address the “emotional variance” comment when I said it was 80% composition. Emotions are dictated in the notes which are interpreted and expressed by the players. Emotions are expressed in the composition through the dynamics and harmonic structure. My point is that this piece of music is relatively easy to play for a professional orchestra and it’s a credit to the composer that it is as “easy”for the players while still achieving the complexity of sound he wanted. I’m confident enough in my claim that it’s an “easy” piece that I would say that the orchestra was given this piece less than 2 weeks before performing it.

I’ve watched a lot of anime and movies. Most shows tend to play popular catchy music for their shows. But Attack on Titan, like any other epic shows, have their own original music. And AOT’s OST is just amazing.
