I really dont get how so many say "proton is missing features" - I mean isnt it just the dark web scan and sharing abilities? The first is really nice, and Id love proton to add this, but sharing isnt really a deal breaker is it?

And sharing vaults is now available in Proton Pass

You say Proton Pass costs under $5/month, while showing it's $3.99 while billed annually, but then you say 1Password around $3/month ($2.99). You're clearly trying to make Proton sound more expensive than it is. Also, if you choose the 2-year option, Proton Pass is the same $2.99 as 1Password.
Also, you say Proton Pass for a dollar is probably the best password manager deal out there. You must have forgotten Bitwarden, which is $10/year ($0.83/month) for the premium version, even though the free option is very usable.
Finally, you say you wouldn't pay $5 for a product this bare. Again, it's $3.99 per month when billed annually, and $2.99 per month when billed every 2 years.
Much like in your comparison between 1Password and Bitwarden that was filled with inaccuracies, it seems you are shilling for the company that provides you an affiliate link.

There is a one problem with bitwarden. It doesn't support most vpn connections 😉

@@just2redI've never experienced that, at least not with ProtonVPN. I've also not even heard about it.

Seems Proton is cheaper than 1password now, at least on a yearly plan. It's like $1.99/mo billed yearly now, and 1pass is 2.99.

7:39 Who thinks a particularly revealing part of the description section is the three links to "the BEST Password Manager deals", which ALL link to 1Password? Even the one that says Proton! And he says he tries "to update them with the best deals as often as possible". Yeah, right; he didn't even bother to link to the Proton Pass home page.

Hey Proton Pass say Autofill Credit Card (come soon). I am so confused about Proton Pass is open source and audited for Security. That mean more performance quick when autofill credit card is useless or launch a new Proton Browser for allow autofill credit card and still same good performance quick?!?

    • @NeptuneSega

That's not what open source means.

    • @AdamLogan313
      @AdamLogan313 Місяць тому

Open source means anyone can read the (source) code used to build the application. Typically it means people can modify it if they want, and often open source projects are free or low cost. There is a sentiment that opensource apps are more secure because vulnerabilities can be spotted and patched by the community vs closed source where only a few developers work with the code and can miss stuff or are complacent about security.

    • @playloud90278

Proton Pass’s code underwent a security audit by the German security firm Cure53(new window) throughout May and June. It is also open source so anybody can put eyes on it.
The biggest advantage to the paid Proton Pass IMHO is the unlimited aliasing. Proton owns SimpleLogin, and this is great for privacy.
Without the unlimited aliasing, I'd go with Bitwarden, which has a terrific free version, and the premium version is only $10/yr. Since I have Proton Visionary, I already get the unlimited aliasing, so I'm sticking with Bitwarden anyway (even though Proton Pass is included).

You are honestly comparing apples and oranges here. You say 1password is cheaper, but does it offer a VPN? does it offer anything else that proton is offering no? This makes no sense... Also you are biased as you have a sponsor link
