    Hey, I'm Jesse, a composer and music theorist. I believe that Music Theory is a practical and valuable artform for all musicians throughout their lifetime. On this channel, I am making videos to help all musicians grow in their understanding of music theory and how it can make them a better musician.

    That picture of the circle of fifths but enharmonically C Major is so cursed

    As a professional musician who was in pun club in high school, I'm genuinely astonished at how many gems are in this video. I've only heard five of these before... and nearly spat water all over my computer several times. BRAVO

      Thanks! I wrote many of them, not wanting to just do a video of reused music jokes. Of course, I still included some of my old favorites.

    8:23 Why didn't Mussorgsky ever take his trunks off at the beach?
    He didn't want any pictures of his exhibitionism.

    Great stuff!
    Two questions and a riddle...
    Did Pope Gregory codify the mass by chants?
    Did Franz Schubert contract syphilis from a virelay?
    Why did composers switch from writing in 2/2 to 4/4?
    They were tired of having their music minimized.

    The last one is a baseball reference, right? I'm European, so I'm not quite sure.

      @twominutemusictheory  3 роки тому +1

      Yep! Baseball reference. And much like the Beethoven scenario, the baseball scenario would be very tense.

    How many LA drummers does it take to screw in a light bulb? Seven. One to screw it in, and the other six tell him how Dave Weckl would have done it.

      @@twominutemusictheory you did a nice job. Much of my music has a comedic flair and I've always thought about the difference between being funny by staying in character and telling "jokes" where you laugh as you tell them. I tend to do the first and you did a great job here mainly doing simular. I'm gonna post some of your charts on my facebook over the next few weeks and drive my non-music nerd fans crazy. ;-) thanks again
