The 2024 Polygon Collosus N7 - Dissected Series
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 лип 2024
- Typically, when we get new bikes for our Dissected series, the price tags are high enough to make even us bike industry veterans squirm. In recent months, however, we’ve seen more competitive pricing across the board, which means budget-minded brands like Polygon will be working harder to drive prices lower for mountain bikers looking to maximize their fun to dollars-invested ratio. Enter the Polygon Collosus N7, a 170mm, 29-inch wheeled enduro bike with an impressive sticker price of just $1,999. Let’s dig into Polygon’s value-minded enduro bike’s spec; six-bar suspension platform; geometry and intended rider.
As with all of our Dissected Features, this is not intended to be a long term review or endorsement of a product but is instead a chance for our viewers and readers to get a deep dive look into some of the newest tech and products in the mountain bike space. We thank Polygon Bikes and Bikes Online for the opportunity to create this feature and getting you some valuable beta on this affordable enduro bike.

@@bikesonlinethat's why I couldn't pass it 😉
This is crazy $1799 with Rockshox Zeb? The fork itself cost $900 already this is a steal
Thanks so much for this killer review! 😎
Thank you for the opportunity.

We just learned this bike is currently on sale for $1,799 at BikesOnline.com Check out the link here. ua-cam.com/users/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbmNUNkl1OWpjbVlrb2lBZTlPQ1p2VlNSZ3JIUXxBQ3Jtc0trdFRhRXpEelhJRGVCU21NaDlPV1htWDlnTVlwRFFWS1d4QVlyZk1fZ3E4TFRlVGFtbExNaXFIYzg0eHJFamZfV3lyUXhzVDlMQUtVcWo2YjNkanBuTXJvWGV4SzdkZktWa0haZHdIRlljLUZFN3kxNA&q=https%3A%2F%2Fbikesonline-usa.sjv.io%2Fbagd0B&v=hpLWREH8vD0
Ahhhh yesss I like this one and the best part is it’s budget friendly the color scheme is really nice too good job for reviewing all ranges of bikes from the not so expensive ones to the very best of the best ones and being honest about them
The price is awesome for sure. If there were more bikes with this level of performance at this price, we'd be stoked.
@@TheLoamWolf Canyon had Torque AL 29 for $2299 a couple months ago... Same suspension, full Deore groupset, Hayes Dominion, raceface wheels...
Do you know how to use punctuation and periods? Please think before spewing a run on paragraph again, thanks!
Awesome as always!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
I still think the YT Capra core one MX or 29” at $1899 is the better deal but it’s damn close
ive had the polygon collosus N7 for a few months or so and i love it ,for the price its really really good, one thing tho it is quite heavy for a enduro at like 18kg so i would recommend running tubeless because ive recently done it and can conform it does make a difference in feel and weight
Holy crap! What a steal
Beautiful amazing bike lovet
Thanks for watching, it does look great.
Think about the enduro bikes you'll be able to purchase used in a few years. Pick up something like this for close to a grand in two years toss a few take off parts on it and you're ready to rock. Good time to be getting into the sport.
Only downside is you have to wait a couple years.
Bike looks good
The problem is at the moment there is such an overstock of bikes that here in Europe you can buy, among many others, an Orbea Occam H20 LT for 2000 euros...
Making all this budget brands a very tough choice.
In Australia the Occam is 6300$aus
The Polygon is 2500 right now.. aus dollars.
There is no comparison.
@@glynnb6572 yeah well in that case it makes sense it's a Spanish brand, point was in general after the covid boom there is just too many bikes in stock, and pretty much all the brands sell with massive discounts.
Any Orbea in AUD is a complete rip off. @@glynnb6572
Thats crazy price. Pretty cool.
Very!
🤩
Looks so nice! Wich grips were you using? I like them
Thanks for asking! They're the @OneUpComponents Thick Grips
Hi there - very interesting bike but not available in Europe for some reason
Go Outdoors has the N9 in the UK. There may be ways to get them elsewhere too.
@@TheLoamWolf yeah, N9 is available but not N7. Anyway N9 has better suspension and brakes.
It’s not heavy, it just have dense bones😂
Oh by the way, I recently got the older brother of the n7
Is the weight that terrible? I’m thinking on buying the n7
@@imdoodrandom once you get used to it you wouldn’t feel the weight. One thing for sure though, it pedals really well considering it’s weight
@@gheatai okay, thank you for sharing this info, I’m buying it then
Pity they're not available here in the UK....
Looks like Go Outdoors does the N9 spec variant, which is still pretty killer value.
You can get in similar prices the Vitus Sommet in GB... It's carbon but nearly as heavy 🪨 Ask me how i know that 😂
😂
How tall are you
I’m 5’11.
Very impressed with the price, but it is a boat anchor.
It sure ain't light!
People say it doesn’t matter that much 🤷♂️
Is it udh
Only N9 in Indonesia 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
THIS is not a six-bar suspension system. Not at all. It's a four-bar.
Ok🎉
Ok 😩🎉
Abysmal suspension design. So heavy and with 18 bearings + shock bushings. A standard rear suspension design also isolates chain, impact and braking forces. There isn't a reason to use this design beyond marketing. Also, had Polygon just made a simpler bike that won't crack like the Siskiu then they might not have to spec crap brakes and drivetrain even at this pricepoint.
Plus a trunnion mounted shock as an extension of the upper triangle... Any flex that happens in the frame will be put directly against the shock with no way for it to flex sideways independently. It's not like they used all that "independent suspension layout" for anything useful anyways, since it is quite linear, with everyone mentioning how easily it flies through the travel.
@@piciu256 good point. There’s a reason lots of the bike names are moving away from trunnion for their heavy hitting bikes. Yea the leverage curve, axle path, and anti-squat and anti-dive are all fairly standard. Really unfortunate waste of a good value
Have you guys even tried it ??! 😂
I can't say about the N7 with rs shock but I loaned a N9 for a complete afternoon of pure mischief it's a very smooth operator this thing eats ruts and rocks... Pretty great to use and consistently reliable, I had mucho fun on it...
It's a bike for less than 2grand.... WTF did you expect??? Keep things in perspective... Want "better" pay more....
@@JustJake77 it's just wasted effort and unnecessarily expensive maintenance in the long run, since they overcomplicated the linkage and didn't really use it for anything, apart from marketing, the could have instead put the money towards better brakes for example, instead of 8 additional bearings.
