Wow. Thank You. I've kept this to myself for 40yrs. I fuckin wore this album out. I got to see them open for Rainbow/Scorpions in 81'. Couldn't fuckin wait for this tune. It paid off in spades. Rhett Forrester, R. I. P. Almost caught the harmonica.
Don't forget Guy Speranza. He had a great voice for Riot. It's unfortunate that the music business frustrated him to the point of quitting for good. We lost a very talented person.
When you have the quintessential hard rock singer and the quintessential hard rock guitarist in the same band, then this is what it sounds like. Absolutely kick-ass. They don't make 'em like this anymore.
I was between 14 and 15 when I first listened to RIOT. I am 56 today and I still appreciate this band which would surely have had a great career without the disappearance of Rhett Forrester who was one of the most talented hard rock singer of his generation.
I grew up in the 80s and had many hard rock albums including this one and I still have it. A great album. I wish I could re-live the time I acquired it.
In 81 or 82 saw these guys 2 weeks in a row opening for Foghat and Blue Oyster Cult. After the first show bought this ep, still have it. God they were awesome!
had the pleasure of seeing them open for rainbow and the scorpions in 82..blew me away.went out and bought this album the next day.. still crank it up and piss of the neighbor s
the new version of Riot Restless Breed has it as bonus tracks!!! finally!!!! i found it on ebay. just make sure it is the High Vaultage Records release....Tedd
That's what's great about it few bands have ever thrown down like these guy's,Mark was one of the greatest talents to ever pick up a six string I truly believe that. They were fast and powerful but had great melodic riffs and solos, the band took many forms over the years and put out some great albums in the late 80's when they transitioned into more of a speed style that was gaining popularity at the time, the band had some problems that held them back even though the talent was obvious they never managed to gain the success and popularity of some of the more well known 80"s guitar bands, but great music never dies and eventually their greatness became more recognized the album Fire Down Under eventually gained them somewhat of a cult following and near legendary status but I believe one of the most talented rock bands to never really make it out from under the radar.
I still own this vinyl & play this some thirty yrs later and Love every minute of it. as well as the other early stuff. Long Live RIOT NYC. R.I.P Mark,Guy,Rhett
always was strange how this E.P. had the same cover as the earlier live album. i SAW them with Rhett on the born in America tour and shared the mic with me on swords and tequailla.....found memory indeed. R.I.P. GUY & RHETT
Also,Thanks,Bill Lamberger for the intro to Riot & the Iron Maiden tattoo on my arm. When young people ask me who it is,I look 'em in the eye and say,"my ex-wife"! I hope Eddie gets the joke.
Great Album! This is the one i remember hearing when i was young but i dont get why this is not in the discography of the band? Instead there´s on spotify an album with the same cover but with Guy Speranza on vocals and other songs! wtf??

Wow. Thank You. I've kept this to myself for 40yrs. I fuckin wore this album out. I got to see them open for Rainbow/Scorpions in 81'. Couldn't fuckin wait for this tune. It paid off in spades. Rhett Forrester, R. I. P. Almost caught the harmonica.

Heh... right here we can see why Riot's record company complained that the band was "too aggressive." What an awesome, punishing song this is.
