I definitely believe this is Pat's fault. Rose followed the game plan, and Trevor tried to get Rose to be more aggressive (Rightfully).
Poor Rose.. Pat looks so uncomfortable everytime Rose starts speaking. Like he's annoyed she's interrupting.

While Barry definitely comes across as weird, Rose keeps interrupting the interview. Why is she pretending she's doing laundry, she's literally trying to be part of the interview but she's not the guest.

Ariel is a world class interviewer. He setup Pat here beautifully. Silence from the interviewer provides the best opportunity for the interviewee to talk themselves into a big old mess and all their BS quickly unravels.
In this interview, Pat spends most of his time convincing himself that he believes what he's saying, whilst thinking he's convincing others', when in actual fact all he's doing is convincing the world he's controlling every aspect of Rose's life.

Either you are completely obsessed with defending someone you don't know or the negative comments are personal to you.
Either way, you can clearly see controlling behaviour displayed in mutiple moments of this interview and it's relatively scary being completely honest.
at one point he even asked her to leave the room so he could be the focus of attention without a distraction.
Also another interesting thing to notice, is how openly he talked about her childhood abuse. That was something relatively typical of an narcissistic controller also.

definitely a few red flags in this interview, namely Pat putting the blame on Rose for her failures in the ring. It's worrying to think that Rose is being discouraged from developing and strenghtening her own fight IQ and personality in the ring. She's the martial artist, the expert she should trust in her abilities and own decision making.
Absolutely right. The fighter themselves, the best fighters especially, need to have fight IQ. It's crucial.

I'd bet money that the second they turned the camera off after this interview Pat started an argument with Rose. Most of us have heard rumors about their relationship, I never gave it much thought before now but Pat really does seem unhinged here. It makes for an unsettling interview. He was trying not to show how hard it was for him to let Rose interject with her own opinions & feelings about her performance, but his annoyed, dismissive attitude was written all over him. His expressions & demeanor when she spoke hinted towards him feeling as though what she says doesn't hold the same weight as him. Like her take on things is inaccurate & she's wasting the time he has to tell us the important facts. I think a part of him was worried that she might speak her mind too much & start contradicting him. I get that it was "his" interview, but dude needs to chill out. The way he fought her for the limelight was like he saw her as more of an opponent than a partner. Strange, unhealthy lookin dynamic.
He is a control freak. He didnt had the talent, the athleticism or the fight iq to became a champion in the UFC so he lives his dreams through Rose who is a amazing fighter. Agreed. I personally think rose won 48-47 but the rounds were so close because NOTHING happened. There was NEVER a reason to say “you’re up” or “the boos are for her” when both fighters were doing nothing.

Pat talks in circles constantly contradicting himself. He should have just admitted that the corner gave Rose bad advice after every round. It was up to them to motivate her and at least try to remove any and all fear she had against engaging with Carla. Rose pretty much said that they had her only practicing defense in training camp. That’s why she was afraid to go right at Carla . Also it was weird that Pat was worried about what Rose would say in the interview. Maybe he has too much control at home and in the octagon.

Rose is one of the two most technically skilled fighters in WMMA. Carla has nothing for her. Rose is bigger, stronger, a lot faster, a much better striker and probably even a better overall grappler, but her team made her doubt herself, think she wasn't good enough to take any risks, "fight" an extremely mediocre opponent like she was facing Khabib.
Not a better grappler but good enough to negate a grappling match at this point

The one time Carla took her back, Rose got her off like she was a kid and ended up on top. Rose took Carla down with ease. I'm fairly certain Rose could outgrapple Carla if she tried. Rose had spent the last 5 years facing the other 3 best strawweights in history and went 5-1 against them. For some ridiculous reason, her team made her doubt herself against a far inferior opponent.
The mental aspect is probably the only advantage Carla had over Rose
