Also, it depends what you mean by ‘profit’. Trillionaires don’t mean the same thing as the rest of the world. @@somarvitor going head to head on the same weekend is just a GIANT 🖕 to ADCC 🤣🤣🤣 but of course Craig dgaf, and he's about to steal 1/2 the top talent from ADCC lol
He just gave Craig the biggest promotion platform there is.
Craig is the man that BJJ needed to raise the bar 👊
Craig Jones = Jean-Charles Skarbowsky of grappling
Fact !
Joe responding to jokes with serious statements is such a drag. Cmon dude just play along for gods sake
Joe was so fn boring here. Craig Jones is one of my favourite humans on the planet and still this was one of the worst JRE episodes imo
Aussie style humour always flies over Joes head
@@sloppygoo Humour always flies over Joes head*
Fixed that for you
@@sup3awas going to say the same thing
Joe hates it when somebody is funnier than he is without even trying lol
Craig Jones is an American treasure, and he’s not even American 😂😂😂
Craig Jones is a serious guy! He says the athletes need to be paid more so he does it... Legendary
I haven’t been watching Joe Rogan lately, but this one brought me back
18 minutes in. My god this guy is funny! I don't usually have the patience for long podcast but I'm gonna finish this one for sure.
Why is it so hard for Joe to understand the longstanding issue with ADCC underpaying athletes? Keeps talking about how they don't turn a profit . . . bro it's the royal family of Abu Dhabi. Money is nothing to them and yet they still only pay $10k for first place.
Why the hell would they give money to some grapllers for no reason. Prize money have to come from profits or sponsors thats how promotions work.
@gordonfrimann246 lol sheiks used to bet on matches and would give away 50k like nothing at adcc in the past. Ask mark kerr
@@gordonfrimann246For no reason? The last few ADCCs have been epic, because of the competitors.
Also, it depends what you mean by ‘profit’. Trillionaires don’t mean the same thing as the rest of the world. Middle Eastern emirates and dictators are sports washing for political reasons obviously, it’s of absolutely massive value to them. Rogan seems to have a child like view that this nice trillionaire is doing the world a favor with nothing in it for himself.
@@gordonfrimann246 What do you mean no reason? You slow?
I'm 3 minutes in and Craig dumped a whole duffle bag of money on the table. This is gonna be a good one.
Best guest in 2024 so far 🤙🏾
Craig is the greatest thing to ever come to JiuJitsu. He brings that relaxed Australian Larrikinism with good dad vibes 😆
Two hard men having a conversation about fighting but not getting to friendly. The respect is real
Craig jones with a million cash, legends gonna legend 😂
Maybe if it were actually his
It's laundered money from ukraine.
It's even more impressive. Craig manages to get the millions, and he's using it to make a interesting sporting event, pay the bjj athletes like never before, and the profits go to charity
LEGEND
I don't even do BJJ but follow the sport because of Craig and B-team! Legend!

one of the best jre mma shows i've watched!
"dont take yourself seriously but take what u do seriously"; joe actually dropping knowledge
Most engaging JRE I have watched in ages
What Joe isn't getting is that "production costs" includes paying all the staff. It doesn't make sense to need to make a profit to pay the athletes more money when they are literally the most important part of the whole production. I.E. the fighters wages should also be the first part determined of the production cost.
No pro sporting event ever has made that their business model. They pay based on what kind of numbers the athletes can draw in
@@xitaris5981 did you watch the video before commenting? they were talking about a non profit. pro sports are for profit that requires investors that expect a return on their investment.
I'd also like to know how much money the executives are making.
The superfight against Gabbie Garcia is such an insane announcement to drop during this.
Dude that fight predates the entire concept of the CJI by a year or more. It's been postponed and canceled several times.
I came here after the event, aged like fine wine. I totally adored the livestream on YT!!
Craig is a legend. Can't thank him enough for all he's doing for the sport
The investor is 100% Mark zuckerberg.
If it were zuck, it would never be on UA-cam
Strong argument for it, but some things that make it questionable:
- streaming free on his competitor (Google/youtube)
- proceeds going to Gaza (zuck is a J)
it's probably some wealthy Arab dude or Kadyrov or something lol
@@bijandhanani2155fr anyone who think Zuck wouldn't have it on Facebook or IG is bonkers
I agree with Joe - should’ve done it before ADCC not the same time, ADCC has a special and sacred place in grappling, crippling ADCC won’t help improve the sport
Craig is sooo funny, he should do an instructional on his jokes
The institutional exists, it's called growing up middle/lower class in Australia.
Which Joe needs to buy immediately. Dude has zero ability to pick up on humour

Nah. That's Gordon Ryan. Craig will always be a cool Morty.

Gotta love Joe not comprehending Craig's point that ADCC isn't profitable because they spend the money on everything but the competitors
These two guys vibe well with each other. Great episode. I hope Joe has Craig on for one of the MMA fight show episodes sometime.
Never seen Craig compete but watch every interview cause of how hilarious he is
you should watch him
I love when Joe gives spotlight to an up and coming young comedian!
Joe being a total buzzkill with the tournament
I'm pretty sure he sponsors the adcc and he sponsored gordon ryan at one point. Thats what makes craig not giving a fuck even funnier.
He brought Craig on to make his event successful
Joe: I’ve never even seen a million dollar check!
Also Joe: $250 Million Dollar Spotify deal.
The best part about CJI is Craig will likely do the podcast circuit.
Plenty more CJ content to come.
Craig is funnier than joe and his entire group of professional comedian friends excluding Shane Gillis and Joey's rants
I wish more Aussies got into comedy and not working class jobs so many are effortlessly hilarious without trying

And Tim Dillon and Theo come on.
Gillis is funny, come on 😂
@@StajoLaBell I said excluding shane he's hilarious lol secret podcast is top quality
Have never felt the urge to comment ever on any UA-cam video, but this was worth the effort. The questioning by Joe and the new approach by Craig. I’ve never been so impressed by both parties. The best internet experience in a long time, if not ever.
Is it me or is Joe being kind of a downer about this thing?
100%, Joe is pissed Craig’s making a stand against the athletes being under payed because he sponsors ADCC and Gordon Ryan, he basically closed his ears to the idea that the athletes should be payed more than production seeing as they’re what draws in attention in the first place yet drummers get payed more than athletes who win 1st place, the royal family of Abu Dhabi run the show money isn’t an issue
ADCC is the biggest event in jiu jitsu and Craig Jones is ruining it lol he is friends with all the best grapplers he has to grill him
He literally invited him on his show
Guy Joe chose to have Craig on, to give him eyes because he wants it to be successful, he just didn’t like starting beef with Abu Dhabi, he felt Craig could have done the same thing just on a different date with no beef and had the same effect.
@slee2695 yeah and then he was a fag about. "Oh but the date, and feelings might be hurt" just pay the mfs and they won't leave the organization. ADCC could always announce that they're gonna pay a million dollars to a couple winners if they want to retain the athletes
best guest in the history of joe
I've been waiting for this podcast my whole life
The IRS was watching this rubbing their hands like Birdman
I don't know how I missed this, but Craig kinda looks like a jacked Sid from the Ice Age movies.
