    MILWAUKEE vs. BAUER CORDLESS GRINDER
Today I had the chance to put my Milwaukee cordless grinder (NOT THE FUEL VERSION) up against a Bauer cordless grinder from Harbor Freight. To my surprise the Bauer grinder did a great job and was only slightly slower than the Milwaukee. What's crazy is the Bauer is only $40 for the bare tool, while the Milwaukee is $100 for the bare tool. So is the extra money worth it? The Milwaukee was indeed faster and more comfortable to use than the Bauer, but it's hard to justify the extra cost with the Bauer being so close in performance.
    WHICH ONE TO GET?
If you already own Milwaukee tools, than by all means just pickup the Milwaukee as you will already have batteries available which will offset the cost. If you don't have a cordless tool collection yet take a look at the Bauer cordless line and see if its tool collection has everything you need in it. If so, you can save a lot of money and build yourself a nice set of cordless tools.
Milwaukee in general has been a more premium brand of cordless tools and with that premium brand comes higher prices. Expect to pay damn near double compared to Bauer. Paying that extra money will get you tools that generally have industry leading performance numbers, a very high level of durability and access to a very large variety of tools. Milwaukee's FUEL line while very expensive has some of the best cordless performance specs across all brands. So it's really up to your needs on which tool will work best for your budget and needs.
    OVERALL
I think both of these grinders are great and performed well. Having a cordless grinder is a luxury that you can't live without once you have one. The days of reaching into the cabinet to pull out a corded grinder and an extension cord are over. Just grab this off the bench, pop in a battery and away you go. Depending on your budget, application and tool collection expectations both of these grinders have a solid place in the market.
