Love the single wing. Gotta be able to throw out of it though. Whether its 30% of the time or 10% of the time you gotta be able to throw and be deadly doing it.
I love watching the single wing. I’m not a football coach, but I just wonder if these days someone could figure out how to put in an effective passing game.
There's a video on UA-cam of Rockne running the Box from 1929 with sound. Great look at the formations. One with the ends split open on the shift which gives a tight slot look. You can modernize it to run option to the weak side etc. Or and the spin series to it. Coaches added on to it. Also on the internet is supposedly a copy from the 1921 version of the offense. Let me add that Pop Warners' Double Wing offense was the first balanced line deception over power offense. Rockne was afterwards respectfully.
