Beast Wars Voice Director Sue Blu & Megatron Voice Actor David Kaye Discuss the Origin of "Yeess"

Beast Wars and Transformers: Animated voice director Susan Blu, and Beast Wars Megatron and Transformers: Animated Optimus Prime voice actor David Kaye talk about projects they feel may have been cancelled too early (like Transformers: Animated), discuss they "how to get into character" when voice acting, and of course, how Megatron's "yes" catch-phrase came to be.
Susan Blu is the voice of Arcee in the original Transformers cartoon, and Transformers: Animated, as well as the voice of Transmutate in Beast Wars. Sue Blu is also the voice director on many animated series including Transformers: Animated, Beast Wars, and the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon.
David Kaye is the voice of Megatron on Beast Wars: Transformers, Transformers: Armada, Transformers: Energon, and Transformers: Cybertron. He is also the voice actor behind Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Cliffjumper, Warpath, and Lugnut in Transformers: Animated, as well as Hardshell in Transformers: Prime.

I'm just old enough to have enjoyed reruns of G1 TF, so I consider that my first TF show, but Beast Wars was magic for me. The writing, the characters, all the little G1 Easter eggs. David is my Megatron.

When Sue said she was sad that the show is in her rear view mirror, I felt that. In regards to my childhood, and then my years as a young adult... I really resonated with that. Life is full of amazing chapters that inevitably end, and we have to let them die in order to remember them fondly, and appreciate them more.

One thing I caught on to a while ago is that both Beast Wars and sci-fi series Stargate used the same Canadian casting company. So Garry Chalk, Blu Mankuma, Scott McNeil, Venus Terzo all appeared on Stargate at one time or another. But I am trying to remember if David Kaye appeared on that show or not.
