Incredible engineer! It totally shows. Some of my favorite tracks Chris has done Pat is on. VP of recording! Period!
Another amazing interview with so much truth. The energy is contagious. Keep it up guys 🙌
Sean Divine ayyyyyy Sean Divine !!! Haha just came from one of your videos been watching forever lol
"My is Sean Devine, with another tutorial "
That’s funny the first comment I see is yours I started following you and your methods and teachings on mixing and mastering in the past 2yrs and you have helped me out so many times so just wanted to say I appreciate you ✊
@Vedo the singer .
Thank you for these CB hits.He played a part.
We also appreciate you
I appreciate you guys so much. I’m glad Teezio is getting his recognition. He’s the glue behind chris brown records we love . What an awesome , intellectual guys
I met Pat years ago on a session and he was a super nice guy and inspiring to watch - one of the fastest tracking engineers I've ever seen
John Douglass the fast part is the super truth I’ve never seen somebody work that fast, I been in studio with him
Amazing Interview. CB is the legend !
My boy vedo with the song credit 🙌🏽
Wonderful interview and very informing. Thank you for this!
y'all should make a podcast out of this as well (export the audio and throw it on i-tunes), i'd listen to it for sure!
Met Pat through mutual friends about a year ago and he’s non-stop working. Just crazy fast and zero patience for sure. He invests all his time into his work and girl.
Privacy in 15 mins is GOAT status. Period 💯
The first guitar mix reminds me of southside by Lloyd maybe Lloyd sampled it
Exactly what I thought it sound like. Maybe.
I wrote this in my comment
I'm like I knew I wasnt the only one
21:17
So what exactly did he mean by 1073? I know the telefunken is the mic and that the CL1b is the compressor.
@@EmmyDuvo 1073 is the Neve Equalizer. Super good i recommend to strongly use all Neve's Plugins
@@EsencyMusic So would you recommend the UAD neve 1073 or the Waves Scheps 73? And also, where would they be placed in the insert slots in pro-tools? First I assume? Generally curious.
@@EsencyMusic you mind answers a few questions
Bro thanks this was what I was looking for! I love you bro
13:25 I'm dying!! :))))
teezio the goat 🐐
That repeated Southside intro guitar riff just kept hitting me...
I'm like is he ever gonna mention it...
Appreciated. This will add value to allot of upcoming @teezio a 🐐
Great interview !
Great interview as usual! You didn’t ask him the gear he would save in a fire. LOL.
:) This surname, in colloquial Italian, means "earns a small amount of money"
That's cool, and ironic!
Man this was great!!!
Your the greatest P
Shoutout Mental Health in the Music Industry. 45 songs?! 13:25
i expected to see dave in a "cyper" at the end. Would be interesting to see.
Can we get another episode with 40 guys? 🙏🙏🙏
Justin bierber guitar play right?😄
Wonder what song he referred to that was supposed to be on Royalty and was already mixed
Kory Fowkes Grass Ain’t Greener
CashProd nah it wasnt, that was only record in 2016 so wouldnt have been the one for Royalty
That's a good question. It's rumored to be Bite My Tongue but i personally doubt it
Chris Brown is the "New Michael Jackson!"
SkateandSmoke.com Facts 💯
More like the new Bobby Brown
Alex Frost lmao 😂 I can only speak for the music
Bobby Brown wasn’t nearly as talented.
He also never had his home raided by SWAT because he was holding a woman against her will. Highlight that, homeboyyy
Dave can rap
cool
Which title have those 3 books on the desk?
This guys done great with Chris but I mean he definitely did not record all but one song as there’s at least 4/5 songs Chris Recorded and previewed with Brian on periscope that made it to HBOAFM so I dunno what he means there
That’s around the time they started recording tho, the recording of that album started in late 2015 until around early 2017
Lil Dave is back!
cmon i dont think it could be that hard to remake that song in 20 mins with that experience
dude hasnt recorded live instruments more than like 20 times wtf lol
what´s printing autotune?
"He´s printing autotune"
What does that mean? Thanks
its when you actually "fuse" the autotune into the vocal as you're recording it. So basically, you "print" it into the vocal and you wont have to have it as an effect on your vocal chain afterwards.
J Visuals 🙏thank you
So your saying if I record with autotune on that's printing it right
Instead of recording raw then adding it later right
@@mubarijohnson9136 that is correct
normalize 22 song albums (not 12) 14:33
Or should I say Teezio 😁
whats he mean by "i cut everything"
@Stone Cutter no "cut" was from even older times before tape when they would cut directly to vinyl record
ooooooooo very classy with the chris brown click bait.
Mike Lisa how’s this a click bait ?
put in my 6 hours a day, gimme a break dude
Well at present he's putting in 24hrs a day really. He will deserve 6hrs a day in ten years. So long as he doesn't collapse beforehand.
Conor Mullan yeah we all wish life was fair and fun but that not how it works
Are you at the very top? This dude knows what he's doing and there's no stopping him getting into the consulting role. He's obviously been advised by others already in that role. And Herb even told him in the video he can also help him with that.
You sound butthurt.
Conor Mullan I'm not butthurt that's just weak af, I would kill to do what he does now for the rest of my life, maybe not 20 hr days but that's fuckin weak imo
@@albanyrebelion Everybody wants it until they have it. It's hard to make such a bold proclamation like that. You think this guy didn't think like you when he was starting out/hadn't made it yet? It's all about evolution. You sound like a passionate person so you will make it (yes you will!) but then you'll adapt and probably come to a point where you realize there's other avenues that excite you thanks to the work you put in to get your foot into that door. Nobody stays in the same place for their whole life. Keep on it man but you'll go on to do many more things than just doing what you currently think is all you want to do and you'll be like damn look at me I'm the man haha.
“I like Jake Paul’s work” LOL @ this, shut the podcast off right there
