Fogging is a MASSIVE make or break issue on a helmet. I have sold off helmets where I couldn't solve fogging issues. I like the idea of a transition lens, but I already have that built into my glasses, and carry full tints for those strong sunny days or riding into sunlight. Transition lenses are slow to tint and never really defeat strong sunlight. I love how thorough Bike N' Bird's videos are and subscribed.
My favorite part of this review is how well he explains the exhaust vents on the Eliminator. I ride in Florida year round, 365, day or night, rain or shine, and I can attest that as long as you're moving, ZERO rain gets in the exhaust holes. Obviously if it's raining and you stop, water will get in the holes, but very little. Also, the Eliminator is hands down the most comfortable helmet I've ever owned. I will say though, it's not great in cold weather as there's no way to close the vents.
Hello from Canada! Just bought an eliminator helmet today based on this video. Thanks for the clear review from someone who actually uses the shit! Keep up the good work.
Wow Justin, I never thought I could sit and watch a helmet review...especially for 21 mins!...But I could not shut it off! You made it honest, interesting and a comprehensive review that kept our interest from start to finish...three cheers for that accomplishment! Thanks for a great review!
Excellent, thorough review. Often you look at two helmets online and they have a similar spec, but are significantly different in price. This review explains what the difference is. Thank you.
I ride in the teens sometimes. Average is low to mid 20's. I hate how much the Splitter fogs. Glad someome else mentions it. Not many people think of it.
I just got a hair eliminator helmet and I see a reflection in the lens I can see my face and nose it’s kind of distracted when I’m riding does your lens have that?
I just got a Bell Eliminator on clearance for a quarter of the original price. I wanted the white one, but mat-black was all they had left. At least they threw in a free rain shield that snaps into the holes.
I'm way late to this. But I've been looking at bith of these. I used to wear a helmet all the time. And I stopped. But I'm trying to wear one more. An needing one for spring and fall riding when it's a little colder. I ordered a. Speed bandit and sent it back 2 days later.. After. Two 30 minute wears in thr house. It fit so bad and felt so cheap. The eleminator is 200 bucks now. And being in Wisconsin the dual panel lens to eliminate fogging is a big plus. But needing tools to swap visors seems like a pain.
I've owned a lanesplitter for about 12 months, and I have a couple of key gripes with it. Firstly, the weather sealing on the visor is useless, in heavy rain, water cascades down the inside of the visor. This happens on both my clear, and dark visors, making the helmet extremely unsafe in wet weather. Secondly, the chin strap is so far back, it tightens across your Adams apple, so you can't really tighten it sufficiently without choking yourself.
Great Channel, I am in the market for a new helmet. My preference is modular. I also use Pack Talk Bold as my communications device. can you give me a suggestion
You can purchase grommet plugs to plug the top vent holes. Useful if you ride in cold/wet weather. www.carid.com/bell-helmets/bell-helmets-replacement-circle-grommet-vent-plug-kit-54517726.html
I like the look of my lane splitter (have the RB edition) but it's loud as fuck! With my earplugs in, I can't even hear my cardo packtalk bold on the freeway...
@@Silidons91 yup! The port that the speakers plug into is a regular 3.5 Jack. If you want to keep both the speakers and the headphones, just use a splitter
The price of both helmets is quite different, not apple to apple. You should compare Bell Eliminator vs Simpson Bandit., I personally will choose Simpson since it's proven the best helmet I've ever worn compare to my last Eliminator (sold long time ago), and the Simpson is a keeper. Keep it up tho'.. 👍
Should have compared the biltwell to Bell's moto 3.. The eliminator understandably eviscerated the BW, but it's 150 bucks more! the price of a helmet. Ok, lets have the good news on the biltwell. Hello? tap tap tap.
All the money you spend on powder coating shit, and you wear junk helmets. You probably are planning on having your head longer then any bike, so why not buy a good helmet like a Shoei or Arai?

Tape lol
How is it with changing shields? I heard they arent as easy as you'd want them to be?
@@inkeehidalgo5039 2 screws i bought the rainbow tinted for myself and my father and have both been on the highway at night

The Lane Splitter IS a Simpson knockoff hence why it looks like a Simpson knock off
I personally like the biltwell much more than the simpson

I get condensation build-up on the lower middle part of the visor on my Eliminator its so annoying 😒
Would the Eliminator be noisy behind a windshield and fairing on a Electra Glide?
How is the lens on the ghost bandit?

I paid $199 in 2022 black friday for my Eliminator.
Really like it. Light weight, flows a lot of air, premium fit and finish, but Damn is it loud.
Just picked up an eliminator for $200 since it's on sale. Felt like the best helmet I could get for the money.
I think Eliminator IS better.. but you can get 2 Lane splitters For The Price of one eliminator
It's on clearance for a quarter of the original price on RevZilla (if there are any left). Mine arrived on Monday.
Id love to know how bad the chrome/mirrored lens is at night
Thank u for your review. Quick question: Is the Bell Eliminator compatible with eyeglasses?
Yes it is

Those must be issues with yours. Mine does neither of those things.
Been waiting for this one!
pro tip: you can watch movies on Flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Kaiser Blaine Yup, have been watching on flixzone} for months myself =)
Justin, would say that sizing is the same ? IE, is an XL in a Lane Splitter the same as an XL in Eliminator ??
Thankyou for this!
I add extra foam inside lane splitter vents for that same reason. Felt like my lips were getting chapped. A little extra foam helped a lot.

No tooless visor swap kills both of em for me :/ very good review though!
Now i must buy an eliminator thanks.

My sena clamp mount to the eliminator

37 is low? Lol
BIAS MOFO
Can't hear my radio on my street glide in a full face. Won't wear one. Defeats the purpose. Might as well have bought a road King.
Allen won’t ever be able to listen to music if you’re dead because you have a half helmet on.
Biltwell helmets are garbage

It humors me that you think I spend money on both powder coating AND helmets 😂
Okay you are now cooler, stupid helmets for stupid people I guess.
God damn you're a salty little bitch.
