I just found your channel, an honestly, I took typography in college. That was a long time ago, ( maybe in 1991??) ,I loved the class but professor didn't really make it fun. I find these some of the best hand letter video's on you tube. Your gentle spirit and easy to understand "lessons" are simply a joy to watch. I have started to pick this up again and was looking for just this. Thanks so much, and you are just a wonderful teacher and artist.
Amazing ideas, so simple and chic, also quick to make. I am always late with my Christmas cards because I keep putting off and then before I know it it’s time to send them out and I suddenly need a quick method 😁
Hi Shayda! I'm a lettering artist working in adding some illustrations to my pieces, and I found your channel and have been binge watching all weekend :) I adore Christmas, too, so this was right up my alley! Thought I'd write you and suggest maybe trying a light pad. There are decent quality very thin, easily portable ones available on Amazon for around $30 (USD, sorry!), and they're a really worthwhile investment for not having the hassle of the graphite transfer paper for most projects :) Cheers!
Oh, in french Merry Christmas is written "Joyeux Noël" (with an accent on the E ;) ) I know, it's a difficult concept in english but they are a LOOOOT of accents in the French language, and they have an utility xD
I love that You live in Beautiful Banff! I live south of Calgary so I know all about loving the Christmas season and having all that inspiration! I find your tutorials very imformative and your work is beautiful. Do you sell your creations anywhere in Banff?
+Molly Emerson Thanks! I always use the Sharpie Ultra fine point pens and I have never had any trouble with the ink bleeding. Even on heavily textured paper like water colour paper the sharpie ink stays sharp. If you do have any trouble with the sharpies, I also recommend STAEDTLER triplus fineliner. I just bought one of these pens in a dark grey and it is my new favourite! Very sharp, true colour ink and no bleeding.
I loved this. Very inspiring. You're a great teacher! Too bad I found you after Christmas. Oh well. It'll give me time to perfect before next Christmas. Thanks and blessings
is all the color pen used here sharpie? I'm not from a English country, so I didn't understand some things. only sharpie was used here or other pens too?
it's funny that you say that, I have always hated the fact that my name starts with an "L". It's my least favorite letter to write. :( I have yet to find a pretty way to write it. If you have any suggestions, I am totally up to learn! ;) P.S. Addicted to your videos! Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day to make them!
+Wajiha Jawaid Sarah is right, take a photo or scan your drawing, then work with it in illustrator. I will try to make a video tutorial in the next few months!
Hi Shayda (love your name btw) ... I've just recently taken up trying to do some drawing ;) I watched your video's yesterday and did my first sketch with pencil. I'm going to see if you have a blog or a place where I can show you ... maybe get some feedback ;) Donna

So pretty... Question : when using sharpies .. Do you have a lot of bleeding with simple cardstock ?

How can you use the graphite in a pencil instead of a sheet of transfer paper?❤️
You should prolly link you website in the description. I couldn't find it online is it 11th apartment or eleventh apartment?
How do you keep the graphite and tracing paper so steady as you work
Just a little piece of paper tape, like wash
Shayda thank you
