Beautiful car man! Glad you actually drive the car. Someone recently asked me why I always drive my 01 Cobra around and put miles on the low milage car and my response will always be the same, "Not driving your car to help resale value is like not having sex with your girl to save her for the next guy." I saw that somewhere and it was just too perfect not to use in that situation.
Not really. I would be keeping it pristine for myself and for others to admire a low mileage car. I’m not saying don’t drive I’m just saying don’t put unnecessary miles on it. I would rather get a badass daily for my boring daily commuter miles. Also this only applies if I’m keeping the car for the long run. If I only plan on keeping it for a little while then I don’t really care.
im pretty sure we will only see gt/350/350r and trims of that (Saleen,Roush) Cobra was always a tribute to Carroll Shelby, SVT worked in the Shelby plants for these cars i think, so that's why these cars are special. his legacy, his speed, with his cobras he raced. branded to none other than mustang
what a machine, nice goin man. I have a 2002GT with a ton of suspension mods, exhaust, cold air, tune...etc...its not the fastest car around but the rawness of it you just cannot find with newer cars. I have a 2014 California Special too, and its got about 150 hp more than the 2002GT, but the 2002 is my favorite to drive.
This is probably the most perfect view of The 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R. I've just about watched every video out there on this car, and I have to say this one takes the cake. It's pleasant to see someone who owns this car, actually use and build it to their liking. Subtle mods but it makes it personal. With the exception of the 03/04 Cobra, this one is my favorite Cobra, bc it was released around the time I got into Mustangs and cars (1996 is when it started) so seeing this car takes me back to my youth and what I grew up to. This is one badass car and I love every second of this video. Thanks for sharing it. Much appreciated. I admire your affection towards your Cobra R. Drive safe.
+autumnstang97 Thank you for your kind words, I am glad you liked the video. We do this just out of passion and love for cars. We will be doing more videos with Max, he is a true petrol head and he has some other classic exotics worthy of a video like this, so make sure to subscribe and share with others.
the video is so misleading, it looks so pretty over there but I pulled it up on maps and it looks like a desert other than some areas with irrigation. lol. SICK car though. Thank you for driving it and giving us gear heads a chance to see one of these on the streets. I myself will be buying one this year if things go as planned. :D
Ok i love this guy. He's going to give it to his kid. These are the kind of people that we want owning specialty cars. They preserve them for the Next Generation. That is a piece of history that is being preserved for the future
Man I love this car. I love the wing, I love the side exit exhaust, I love the color, I love that huge in your face COBRA labeled intake. And this car in particular is just amplification of all the things that this Cobra even more special. Such an awesome machine!
Gorgeous machine, brotha! I have a modified 03 Terminator that I enjoy driving on the weekends. I owned it since 05. Until now, I still get big smiles and thumbs up when other drivers hear the throaty Borla exhaust and witness it's unbelievable power, punishing those drag radials. The reason I own my Terminator is because I fell in love with a rare Competition red Cobra R in early 2000s, driving by the mall. Thanks for sharing your story. I already told my son a few years ago that the Terminator will eventually be his weekend warrior, which he may use on dates.
I will always appreciate a high revving corner cutter, that has good street manners . And what's better than achieving that feat with out a turbo or supercharger! I would love to own one of these to drive it like this.
This is one bad ass Mustang. I am glad the owner gets to drive it as it was meant to be driven. When it comes to the wing, I think the wing makes this car look even more bad ass, and as long as this is the real SVT Cobra it makes sense to be there. I used to own a 2004 Mustang GT and although not the same beast, my Mustang kind of felt just as brutal and drove like a true muscle car unlike my current 2011 Mustang GT which feels more sports car than muscle car. My 2004 GT although slower also feels faster behind the wheel, it's weird because compared to the 11 GT, it just not as fast. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Because newer cars have a better suspension is all. That muscle feeling was on older cars because of the outdated suspension, but at the time a good one
Very nice. I think you've done a great job to properly enjoy the car. Though they made thousands of terminators I always compare my yellow one to the Cobra Rs in the way that they only made 299 Screaming yellow coupes (one less than the Cobra R)
First off, its so awesome you own a 2000 R! Second its awesome you actually drive it like its intended, 3rd its awesome you actually mod it and 4th you're one awesome dad!! I have just a 95 cobra with 40k on it mildly modded and when i see like an 03-04 cobra on the streets, i put my tail between my legs lol i couldnt imagine a 2000 R pulling up next to me! Beautiful car!
AWESOME video brother. I really enjoyed watching it and learning a little about your story. I hope one day your son will continue with his own story driving this beast. The Cobra R is a legend.
I love this car,in all the need for speed games i would always pick this car. Ive owned 2 foxes and currently a sn95 94 mustang gt. I grown close to sn95's now,im gonna get a 96-98 cobra next and a terminator later on. Glad your driving it around and modding the crap out of it,its how stangs were always meant to be.
Great video! Very cool and unique. I Was dealing with some regerts about passing on one of these 300 cars a couple years ago but I now have full apreciation for my 2013 GT, 442whp and 20+mpgs.
I'm genuinely happy for you bro! So glad you drive it and enjoy it. For now I'll do with my 1:18th diecast scale of it (pastors don't make a lot), but one day maybe I'll have a real one :)
Man that's a sweet sounding mustang👍 and still looks awesome today! I remember going to the ford dealer here in Chicago, and they had one on the show room. Absolutely stunning looking car! Nice review👍 thanks for sharing and enjoy it man👍
Probably the Cobra R that has covered the most intended miles is here in New Zealand. Rick Cooper's Cobra R did the Targa NZ road races (that were 5 days long), at least 3 years in a row in the early 2000's. Plus I remember him doing a 4 hour (at least) production car race, too. From what I remember, he did very well. I spoke to him once during a Targa event, and he told me he had put 6 piston AP Racing discs up front, but they were not working well, so he was going to put the originals back on !!
If you google ground sky photography, search rick cooper cobra r, 2003 Targa NZ, there are many great shots of the car being driven as it was designed for !!
Beautiful car, was slightly obsessed with them years ago. I'm sure there's a few Mustang fanatics that are angry about the alterations but screw them, enjoy it
Great video! I enjoyed every second of it. Great sound, nice shots, and interesting story! Amazing car too, I remember when these babies came out. The wing was a lot more popular back then for sure.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I love that you drive the car as it's meant to be driven. Love the engine mods, it has some serious power but seems very useable.
the unicorn of late model mustangs. personally im happy with my 04 mach 1 in grabber orange. did a full steeda suspension upgrade, put some pirelli p zeros on it, and working on saving for a helion turbo, even as it sits, just the cornering ability alone has hurt some s550 feelings. new edge mustangs are my personal favorites, and this is the abolute unicorn among them. imagine if they supercharged it like the terminator, just with the bigger engine and the other cobra r features
Damn, this car is amazing. When these came out it was one of those American cars that made me think it sucks to be stuck in Australia! This is pure muscle. I'll keep driving my XR6 Turbo & keep saving for a Mustang GT. We don't get anything hotter than that here unfortunately.
I saw one at the Bloomington Ford in Minnesota. Racing a car will weaken the body by twisting it in the corners. My 1st car was a 79 Mustang Indy Pace Car 5.0 4 speed. It was raced in the Showroom Stock class A series in Brainerd Mn and another track in Wisconsin in 80 & 81. The body twisted enough that the latch for the rear hatch would pull up.
I remember seeing them coming off the truck at Galipn Ford in Southern California. I remember the salesman telling me that there was a gross polluters tax on top of the sticker
This guy is fucking awesome. This car is not being wasted. He actually made some great improvements and he experiences it and drives it and enjoys it. That's what the car was built for. Love it but run it
I can't wait til I put away enough dough to get one, if I can find one when I have the $$ but that is my dream car, I have my obtainable dream car in my Mach1 which has been stroked to 5.0 L among other bolt on goodies, am thinking about a procharger this summer but I'm hanging with stock terminators and coyotes so I'm happy right now
my favorite mustang ever! I agree though about the power, I think it should have had the previous cobra's engine. In regards to the wing, its a good thing you cant see whats behind you, it makes you focus forward more so you can smoke whatever challenges you better! you know those bumper stickers that say, "if your in my rear view mirror, your losing." ? with the wing id add, "not that I wanted to see you anyway." lol!
Please help, I have a 99 cobra with a 4.6 DOHC. I am looking for a non coyote swap option. I am considering getting a 5.4 and bore it to a 5.8. I just wanted to know if my current DOHC will fit a 5.4 block.
All cobra's from 99-04 were IRS equipped standard including this one. Once he said: " I want my son to have this "
I fucking subscribed and liked. Hell yeah. Badass Stang.
every few months this video comes to my recommendations..i watch it in its entirety..nice.

Im gonna quote that XD hahaha
Totally agree!
thats the best quote ive ever heard lmao

That and the and the Terminator were my favorite frm that era. Damn I wish Ford can bring back the SVT Cobra and make another Cobra R.

Got #105 here, love the WOT sound, the smile is from ear to ear, when I drive her.
That's probably one of the only mustangs I like because of the impact of NFSHP2 in my childhood lol.
A Franca dam right
glad I wasn't the only one thinking about this

+Kaiser We love the R so much too. This guy loves driving it a lot and he is adding Turbos to it now
My goodness but that exhaust sounds heavenly.
Thank you for doing what that car was designed to do! So glad you changed colors also. Out of all Ive seen, yours takes the cake BY FAR

i seen a video of a 95 cobra r that only had 500 miles i was like what a waste that car was ment to be driven
Never understood why people left the front spliitter on for street use? like, they made it quick release for a reason?
why get rid of the windshield wipers? never understood this. wiper components weigh next to nothing
Bad ass, thanks for sharing
You know it's a race car when there's no windsheild wipers lol
Is it just me or does the head lights for this look completely different than other new edge mustangs
She's a beauty! since it's modified I'd drive the heck out of it. But if it was stock it would be a garage queen.

Is that a bent front passenger wheel?
